Port Orleans-Riverside
We always stay at POR and love that resort and in the past we always had different towel animals and to us (especially my wife) that sort of detail defines the magical experience of Disney. So we were disappointed at not having any towel animals and really, I'm unsure why. It seems a nominal detail that we really care about and I saw them on the mousekeeping cart. Oh well, we had a great time anyway just with no towel animals.

Re: Hotel Tipping
Did you put in your request over the phone, or did you leave a note? I remember one time many years ago at CSR we had left a note inside our room on one of the beds requesting no service (we already had our DND sign out and had called Mousekeeping, but they cleaned anyway the day before). Came back that night, and yet again they had cleaned the room anyway, and put the note back where we left it.rphillips14 wrote:Port Orleans-Riverside

Since we don't request service, I think we've only gotten a towel animal one time; it was an angel with stickers for the eyes and mouth. Very cute! I never thought you could take them home, so I left it behind. Kind of wish I had asked if I could keep it, now!

If towel animals are important to you a Disney Cruise may be in order. I was amazed by the towel creations last cruise, and they happen every night at turn down.rphillips14 wrote:Port Orleans-Riverside

We had towel animals when we were on the Disney Dream Cruise in 2011. We had a diff one everyday. They would use our sons hats or suglassess. They were awesome. We did tip our housekeeper because she went way above and beyond for my fam. We were celebrating our honeymoon and she got me a nice vase to put my rose in water. We loved talking to our housekeeper. She was very nice to our boys. This was the first time ever saw our housekeeper. I have yet to meet them at the resorts.
