Don't be fooled, only a few people live that close, or are CMs. Most of the people at the meet-up earlier this month were from far away. Well, 2 were from Florida, but they had to drive a couple hours to get there

But on here, we're all very close to the magic

I think MadEye and I were the only Orlando locals at the meet-up... and I'm still a new local!

If you want to get technical I can say I'm from three different cities. Technically I'm considered living in an area of Orlando. If you want to get literal, depending on which side of the street I'm on, I'm either in Windermere or Lake Buena Vista (WDW property for those who don't know already

)
Kind of like how technically my address is Winter Garden but in all actuality it's Four Corners... 'course I also discovered yesterday that the back road to my house provides a fab view of AKL all lit up at night.

Wahhhhh!

I don't suppose you would care to make me feel better and pack your camera some night

Is it allowed to stop and snap a few quick photos or would you have security on you really, really quickly?!

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess either Western Way or the 429. If it is the 429, I doubt stopping on a highway to get some pics would be an option.

I live in RI....I'll be making trips number 70 and 71 this year. If I lived in the area, I would never leave!

Wow ~ that's a pretty impressive number for living so far away!

I wish it was easier to get to Florida but with plane tickets rising every day - it is tough. Lately, we have been going like once a year or so - which is definitely more now than when I was younger.
I think I would be happy if we stayed with once a year - but we will see how that works as our family continues to grow.

I sympathize with you on the rising cost of airfare. That keeps us from going more frequently for sure. Had I known, I might have tried a career in the aviation industry

Yeah, the costs of airfare are truly unfortunate. I'm not able to get out there at all this year (although that can be attributed to my schedule)

The only two places I will ever need to be are Manhattan and Disney World.

You sure about that? Don't get me wrong, I love the parks. But there are times it gets monotonous and I have to take a break.

I would love to have the chance to try and get bored with the parks

I think it would be neat to be able to pop in and just take in a few of my favorite attractions, maybe sit and people watch, get a fancy treat, and have no pressure because if I couldn't see something on that day, I would know I could come back in a day or two

I tend to use the parks more to just walk than anything. I might do an attraction here or there, but mostly I go for exercise. Weird as that sounds.
MadEye- it's the 429. So that's a major no!

I agree. It is good for exercise. Me and my better half lost 2 pounds each just doing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom today (we did outrun the day parade on its way to Frontierland...)
Soarin - So I take it you get off the 429 at Winter Garden Vineland Road?

I live less than an hour away, so I go a few times a month. The only times I stay away are during the summer (too hot, too crowded, and blocked out) and the holiday season (too cold, too crowded, and blocked out)

Being in SoCal, with airfare and all, it's about three years between visits to WDW for me. Luckily, I have DLR very close by and the internet to keep me informed on changes and new attractions at WDW. I normally end up planning based on when a new addition should be up and (hopefully bugs worked out) running, along with time of year. No more Summer trips for me now that school vacations are done. Whew

that's me burning up,

We're all mad here, I'm mad, you're mad."
