That's exactly why I said I don't want to cause a string of comments from what I said because I did not mean it in a sexist sense. It's just my personal opinion! I NEVER said that men are better narrators than women. I didn't mean to portray that as a fact (if that's what it came across as). It is simply my personal preference. I agree with what you said. Notice I didn't say ALL male voices however. I just said A male voice. But again, it is my personal preference! It is like saying I like the color blue better than the color red! I am not forcing that statement on anyone, nor am I portraying it as fact. I was simply voicing my opinion and even added the disclaimer to my original post that I did not intend to cause extra attention to that comment! I understand completely where you are coming from and in case you were wondering, there are plenty of women's voices I would rather hear over plenty of men's voices, but IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, I think a male voice, such as Jeremy Irons' voice, is a better fit than Judi Dench's voice. That's all I was trying to say. Again, THAT IS MY PERSONAL OPINION, and it is not a sexist comment, nor is it in any way putting women in a negative light.

Also to add, I have heard from several of family and friends who are women that they felt the ride was better suited to a male's voice, before I even mentioned to them that I felt that way as well!

Relax, lonepalm, I was just up to my usual mindflippery - but your post if misinterpreted could provoke certain females to break out their CHI's (if you don't know that acronym, then you're probably better off). Personally, I think Judi Dench would have been just as good as Jeremy Irons - its that ruddy crap of a script they got her reading...

Yikes! I hate how you cannot portray a personality on the internet! I wasn't mad or trying to portray any tone in my post above. I was just answering your post! No anxiety, no anger, nothing, just statements! :)

I'm glad you posted that because if what I said wasn't clear, it should be now!

I wonder if we can come up with other awful voices that we would not want to narrate Spaceship Earth.

For instance: Justin Beiber. I've seen the kid on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He can't say two words without one being "like":

'Like a grand and like miraculous like spaceship, we have like sailed like through like the galaxy like..."

This is all-time great. When I read this I was cracking up. I know exactly what you are talking about... sounds like every teenager these days....cannot put a full sentence together without saying like about 4 or 5 times.

Judy Dench will never ascend to the levels of Kronkite and Irons for me. Nothing against Dame Judy, but Kronkite and Irons make me think of my childhood, and are one of the first things I think of when someone says Disney World.

Spaceship Earth would be the newest ride to need fastpasses, and they'd be gone before Soarin'

It's bizarre how obsessed with this kid the tween crowd is.
