I agree! Why not rotate through World Showcase countries? How many different screens do they have? DCA has 2, not sure what they put in there but I could see them running two seperate "flights" at once...bartman454 wrote:I honestly would prefer Soarin over the world. The possibilities their are endless unlike Florida which granted their are some good sites is nowhere near as good as a global view would be.

I just returned from California and had my first chance to experience Soarin'. Riding it twice during my stay gave me two distinctly different perspectives. My first ride was in the third group, in the last seat of the third row, meaning once the attraction started, my vantage point was the lowest level, in the seat furthest to the left. I was terribly disappointed. That seat (and the corresponding seat to the far right of the attraction) has to be the worst possible place from which to experience the film.
Luckily, I decided to ride a second time, and am glad I did! That time I was seated in the second group, in the middle of the first row. Whereas my first experience was in the worst seat, my second had to be in one of the best!
Is WDW's Soarin' configured in the same way? If so, I recommend that everyone tries to get in the second (middle) group in the preshow area.

The problem is that Florida just isn't quite as diverse. But if they included the keys, the everglades, citrus groves, historical towns, and (even better) golf courses, there's plenty to make a movie of.jkm8113 wrote:not disagreeing, just saying there are some worthwhile sites in Florida too.borjoyzee wrote:I say Florida, is not as beautiful as Cali.
But still be interesting.
I'd still shoot for the world aspect, though. Especially at Epcot.
Was on Soarin Last week
We did the Fast Pass Deal, the only ride we bothered doing that for and it was worth it.
We stayed at a WDW resort, and were able to stay late. Waited half an hour for fast pass, if we hadnt, would have had to wait about two hours on standby.
Sat on the first row when the seats were lowered, so I guess that made it the top most row when raised.
I thought it was great. In the dark room, and the moment the seats lifted, I liked it.
I loved sitting up, and looking down at my feet dangling, and still seeing the projected image, all the way below me. I loved the breeze, and the scents, and I really liked hearing everyone else laughing and making noises...as I was doing the same so myself.

There's no doubt that it's a great ride, and a really great feeling of flight.
I recently read a bit in the paper in which they interviewed someone from Disney, and they stated that, while it wasn't in the works, there was a very good chance that the movie would change at some point or another. He also mentioned that it would be a very easy thing to do. I think they've just got their plates full with all the new attractions going up over the next couple of years.

I can't see "Soarin' Over Florida", but why not "Soarin' Over America"? There's plenty to soar over from sea to shining sea... Coast of Maine, Lady Liberty, Independence Hall, Niagra Falls, St. Louis Arch, Great Smokey Mtns., Grand Canyon, Rockey Mtns. Las Vegas Strip, etc., etc.SpringheeledJack wrote:The problem is that Florida just isn't quite as diverse. Niagara Falls is great to fly over, but even better when you do the rapids in a speed boat.
As far as a new movie, I think Soarin over America or maybe Europe (for the Epcot theme) would be a great idea. Doesn't just settle over 1 area, but incorporates everything.

Or, perhaps, it could be, as Sam Eagle says, "a salute to all nations, but mostly America".js3901 wrote:Niagara Falls is great to fly over, but even better when you do the rapids in a speed boat.

It really is great, Rich. If you can, try to sit in the center of the three loading zones, and in the first row. That will put you in one of the best seats when the attraction starts.rdeacon wrote: Man soarin' is getting some great reviews... can't wait to ride it in Sept/Oct when I got to WDW.
