No kidding...this is a vacation that requires caffeine.

Oh no! I sure hope that's not the case. We recently booked our WDW for this year and we're staying at the Contemporary. And well, as you can judge from my reaction, we thoroughly enjoy the convenience this system offers.

Mine is pretty old. I got it the Contemporary quite a while ago. It a kind of greyish white with the old Contemporary emblem on it. I heard that the new cups will have just a WDW emblem on them and not the individual resorts.

I forgot to say that my cup is so old that it was $7.00. I can't believe that I thought that was a lot for a cup at that time.

Mine is at my work desk in front of me. I'm also OK with the price increase. It saves us a lot of money over a 2 week holiday :D It's a Pop Century one, I'll have to take care of it now that they have got rid of the resort specific ones.
1980, 2000, 2005 and 2008 all had plenty of magic. Hoping for a bit more in 2010.

My Corando Springs mug is also sitting on my desk here at work. It brings a touch of vacation to my day.

Call me crazy but I wouldn't want to carry the cup around with me all day  I don't even take my purse, just stuff I can fit in my pockets cause I hate having to hold onto something if I am on a ride. I save all shopping until the end of the day 8-)

You can only refill them at your resort. I never carried mine around. I just used it when dining at the resort.

Depends on how or what else I had... When I stayed at the Boardwalk/Beach Club Villas I would get me fill of coffee in the morning and take it with me. Rinse it out and dry it. I Would store it on either my fanny pack or in the stroller until we made a afternoon visit to the room. Believe it or not, if you clip it onto something, (camera bag) it is pretty much not noticed.

They definitely did not have them in December. They didn't have anywhere to fill them, either; the only counter service option they had during the construction was a (pathetic) grab n' go thing set up on the 4th floor. We ended up monorailing over to Captain Cook's instead.

I heard a rumor they won't be bringing the refillables back to the Contemporary, but I'm not sure I believe it as it seems strange to me that'd be the only hotel without them? I assume the rumor started as a result of them not being there at the moment, I dunno.

Anyway, fingers crossed they'll be in for your trip!

Thanks for the update, DisBeamer! We got a bit to go yet, but my fingers are definitely crossed!

i think it's worth it when a drink is $2.25 each. I have seen people get water cups and fill it up or even soda bottles lol

Note that if you're just doing it for soda, it's much more reasonable to pick up a 12-pack for 4 bucks. Of course, then you don't get a mug, but the generic (non-resort-specific) ones are lame.
