I am soooooo glad to see so many others like myself out there! My kids are sure I am the cheapest person walking this earth. Obviously, that is not true. I don't think we would be chatting about all our trips to WDW, if I was the cheapest person on earth! I just don't want to spend all my money on something that doesn't spend a long time with me! (If you get my drift.)
And, the hummus is good (and ethnic) at POP!

I think the best value for food is the " Trails End" buffet at Ft Wilderness campground. I have had breakfast and lunch there. :mickey2:

I agree with China or Japan both have good counter service at reasonable prices.

As for the publix it is down the Mickey Mouse Highway otherwise known as the Osceola Parkway. Turn right at the large convention centre (the name of which seems to be censored by subsonic but has Palms as its second word) and it is opposite the walgreens just before the end of that road.

First night there we always head for the Publix buy a polystyrene box about $2.99 and we now have a makeshift fridge which we top up from the ice machines at the resort.
We take a small kettle with us that we bought in wallmart some years ago and I bring tea from home (sorry guys your tea just doesn't cut it) then we can have breakfast in the room make sandwiches if we wish to take to the parks, but mostly we use the fridge thing for milk and fruit.

Here is another good tip for those on the meal plans. Wolfgang Puck Express in DD only counts as a counter service and has much more to choose from and larger portions than your typical counter service options in WDW. We used this as a dinner when we ran out of sit-down points and it still felt like we were getting sit-down quality and portions. They have sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, chicken, and even serve breakfast. You'll leave there feeling quite satisfied and all for just a counter service.

Big River Grill and Brewery on the Boardwalk has large enough portions that you can easily split. My wife and I do that - no split charge.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.
