I think it would depend on the final cost. How many people would be willing to fork over $5 for a votive candle or $20 for a small jar? Disney inflates their prices so much, as if placing a few items at "normal" retail prices is going to break them.
Personally, I'd like to see a line of Park Scents candles...but it would depend on final cost if I'd be willing to purchase them.
Plus there would have to be some thought and true scent identification going into it. The bakery for example, with so many cookie scented candles out there, don't just take one, slap a Disney Parks label on it and charge through the nose. I'll go to Target and buy the exact same thing at half the price. Same goes for the pine or oranges...it would have to be the exact scent. (though those 2 should be fairly simple to re-create since they are in "air freshener" form as it is :D Burning Rome and POTC mustiness would be a bit more difficult...)
It would be funny if they could actually come up with oddball scents like Jungle Cruise fumes, Splash Mountain chlorine, the Dinosaurs from UoE or even Turkey Legs.

Oh, can you imagine a turkey leg scented candle?! That would make people really hungry when you burned it. I'm betting a few people on here would buy a Dole Whip scent!

The problem is that having a random orange scent from a store and having the EXACT scent from Soarin' would you really be able to tell a noticeable difference? Humans don't have as sensitive a nose as other animals, same goes for the pine. I just don't think they would be different enough to make them Disney-specific.

Yes to both. There is a very distinct differnce in the Disney Orange and Pine scents and others...I have not yet found anything that comes close. Most of the pine scents I have found are too cleaner-y and not quite the scent I'm looking for. Same goes for any orange ones I've come across as well. Maybe I have a sensitive sniffer...who knows? I tend to associate sights, sounds, smells, tastes etc...to other things.
For instance, there is a smell that I love at DL but I don't know what it is. Along the Big Thunder Trail there are many trees/plants and I'm sure this is what I'm smelling, but it's the only spot where I can smell it. When in another city somewhere, I caught a whiff of that scent in the air and I literally stopped and had to take it in. I have no clue what it is or where it had come from so randomly, but the point was...it was there and not at DL. I'd never smelled it anywhere else before.

Not sure about the turkey leg candle. At least we are all using our imagination. But the cost factor does come into play. Would you pay $20.00 for a candle that is more than likely going to halfway melt before you get back to your room.

I put the turkey leg in there just for Amy   ;)
I don't think it would translate too well, but who knows?

I think you hit the nail on the head jacobcary1. I agree about the pricing. With the amount that Disney would have to dish out in R&D, obviously the cost would be reflected in the sales price. I don't even want to think about how much they would charge...not to mention the "cheapness" of the merch coming from the parks these days. Like you said, the thing would probably be half melted by the time you get to your room and all the rest of your stuff would probably smell like Burning Rome too.

Hey, don't knock the turkey legs! Yeh, those dried-out tough legs they sell at WDW is one thing, but the one I had a DLP was cooked like it came from a four star restaurant (I never knew you could make a turkey leg that mouth-watering tasty)...

Mom loves them, I just don't care for meat that much, especially dark meat of a turkey leg. And I don't even think F1gment would want a burning candle of "turkey leg" Although it might be a good smell on Thanksgiving. You could burn the candle, then make pizza, and sit back and watch the fun at lunchtime!

Personally I like the turkey legs. Though I haven't had one in a really long time so I don't know if the ones at DL are still as good or not. The ones I used to get were nicely smoked and falling off the bone. I normally don't eat much dark meat, but every now and then I crave it.
I knew Amy doesn't care for them and that f1gment loves them. If there was ever a turkey leg candle, instant mom's day gift Amy! :D

I'm a country boy, so I can't resist the smell of smoked foods. I always end up with a turkey leg. The waffle cones are excellent as well. For some reason I always plan on eating at Casey's Corner as well. Nothing wrong with a good hot dog.

I was thinking about the turkey legs today as I was running a few errands. There was a Nelson's chicken (a local place that does mostly fundraisers, chicken halves on the grill) cook-out across the road from the store and it smelled so good. Made me want to be at Disney!

I have never been to a Nelson's chicken. After thinking about it, any time I smell a smoker going it makes me hungry.

I'd say that qualifies you as a Disney nut!
