Someone sends you an unexpected picture of them at EPCOT in front of Spaceship Earth and you get really excited that they got to go! (For those that remember, or care to look page a page on this thread, this is the couple on the work trip where the Mom was not excited to be going to WDW...at all)

While what they did was definitely unique and something cool to be able to say that you've done, I couldn't help but think that it probably wouldn't really be all that fun in reality. That's a loooong time sitting in planes in one day, plus I doubt they really had time to do anything in any of the parks other than look at the castle for a minute. But since they're addicts like us, I'm sure they've seen it all before (and will see it all again).

I thought the same thing ~ all that time in planes and they didn't get to enjoy anything

It did say they started the day after having been in Japan for a week so hopefully they had already experienced those parks to the fullest. Yeah, it sounds like they are able to go to the parks a lot ~ lucky!

...you're listening to the Story Exchange (stories sent in by listeners) on the Vinyl Cafe podcast and when the story says, "I went to Disneyland...and we were going to get a free day at EPCOT", you emphatically say out loud to an empty car, "that's not Disneyland!"

Those people make me want to
I only got to ask my piano family Mom a few questions today after their lessons were over. They ended up in the Magic Kingdom for a few hours one afternoon and had the one business dinner in EPCOT. I thanked her for sending me the picture of them in front of Spaceship Earth and she said it was one of two photos they took in the parks. TWO pictures is all. they. took.

The one good thing is that she does think they might take the youngest four (and maybe one of the older kids who expressed an interest) to the Magic Kingdom once the next in line goes away to college next year. Fingers crossed for them!

I agree with you on the

at only 2 pictures. I haven't actually counted, but I'm pretty sure I took over 1000 (sounds crazy when I actually write that number down).

They may just not be the type of people that takes a lot of pictures no matter where they go. As much as I like the idea of taking pictures (and having them afterwards), I'm not the greatest at actually taking them consistently. At home I'll go through spurts where I take a lot, then not pull out the camera for weeks/months. On a trip, I get a whole lot of pictures on the first and last day and the middle days don't seem to exist.

At least my family could have successful careers as paparazzi, so I can get copies of their pictures.

...you're standing in the Hilo, Hawaii, airport. and hear a Hawaiian song coming over the speakers, and IMMEDIATELY recognize it, and start to sing along in your head, because it's one of the Polynesian Resort tracks.
Strange how things remind me of WDW instead of WDW reminding me of things. Or sad. Or both strange and sad.

Oh no, they take a ton of pictures ~ I think it was more that they didn't have any of their children with them. If the MK trip ever happens, there will be loads of pictures I'm sure.

That's pretty neat actually ~ without WDW and your Poly Resort musical knowledge, you wouldn't have appreciated that song you heard quite as much ~ hoping you are having some time to explore and do things while you are in Hawaii ~ looking forward to pictures and stories when you return!

That's a great story! I think it's a testament to the level of authenticity that Disney puts into every detail.
