This is my thought exactly - when I was younger I thought it was a tease to not be able to go down there and jump in while we were waiting ... back when waiting took FOREVER and there was nothing to play with and it was okay ... lol

That was the only way we knew Disney, was waiting in long hot lines and you were happy to get into the a/c!!!

Now, we're so spoiled!
Right now I'm visualizing myself sitting at the Big River Grill outside with my DH and just taking it all in...

Today - I am standing in the waiting line for pirates of the carribean and I'm looking around at some random doors up a staircase and wondering if it's a real door and if so, where does it go??

I'm in the POTC queue as well, and enjoying all the sights...especially the two gentlemen playing cards down in the cell

LOVE IT!

I'm also in the POTC queue... wait, never mind. I was wrong. It turns out I'm at home. Sorry, got carried away in imagination there.
Hoping to go back to the Magic soon.

how about in POTC where you start to take off in the boat and there's that skeleton driving a wrecked ship and the wind is blowing and it's kind of creepy and you are truly just in the moment!!!!!!! right before you plunge down the dark waterfall! Ugh - wish I was there now!!!!

Walking down main street... the smell of popcorn, the view of the castle directly ahead, the jostle of happy people, the balloon venders. Priceless-let's me know I'm "home".

Are you talking about my favorite room?! The one with all the tile, staircase and faux water fountain?! I just found a photo of it on line, and it has always been one of those "visuals" that pops into my head

Not sure if this is what you are thinking of ... but is what I see in my mind ...

We ate in this room the last time we went ~ first time we had ever noticed this seating

It was pretty nice and a little quieter than the room closer to the toppings bar.

That's what I thought too - there wasn't as many people around ... it's a really large area in there ... you can enter from frontierland and exit in adventure land ... I guess that picture and area I always think of is more for the adventureland area ... so actually I am really eating in Tortuga Tavern??

Well, they share the same dining space...so I suppose technically you are eating in both Pecos Bills and Tortuga Tavern...

bdude and I ate there on our last trip too! We sat right in back by the fountain! We loved it!!! I didn't realize that you share the same dining area with Tortuga, that never seems to be open when we want to eat there!!!
