you pay 5 - 7.50 for drinks at any restaraunt so that's not bad at all.

I couldn't help but laugh at this one. I thought I was the only one who thinks about this every time I am at Epcot. Unfortunately I am always there with my dry family so I can't really drink, but the first time I go with my friends, forget about it. I going to look forword to drinking all day at Disney. What me and my friends do now when we go to Six Flags, Busch Gardens, etc (try not to laugh) is we bring 1 liter bottles of pepsi, that are mixed with Captain and coke, in the parks with us. Nothing beets going on a good roller coaster with a good buzz. The funny thing is that I never noticed that they even served alcohol at Disney until just a few years ago (around the same time I turned 21). Now I think that its funny that you can get a drink just about every 100ft. In one sense I think that its a kids park, why are they serving alcohol, but then on the other hand I think about Walt Disney himself said that when you step into these parks you will be escaping reality. In a broad sense that is the purpose/reason for drinking, so why not combine the two and really take a trip to fantasyland.

I was the same way. I never realized that they sold alcohol until I was there without my family. The first time I went with my now wife, we saw them selling alcohol our first day during the preparations for Illuminations and were like "WTF." We had no clue but thought it was pretty cool. The more we paid attention we saw they sold alcohol almost everywhere in the parks, but had no idea about drinking around the world, but as soon as I told her, we both knew we were going to have to try it.

This is an OUTSTANDING Post, as my Brother-in-Law, and myself have made it an Epcot Tradition...While all the children are off at Character Breakfasts, and spending an afternoon at the MK...Stu & I make our pilgramege to Epcot...I recomend starting at the International Gate, workng counterclockwise, and ending the event at the Rose & Crown, for dinner, drinks, and a nap....... :P

I've never "drunk around the world", but my father and uncle almost did the last time we went! :mickey:

We call it liquors around the lake. If you have a deep enough pocket and are truly hardy try doing this during food and wine. It took us about nine + hours and a little over $100 apiece. Also plan a resort day for the day after. One of the nice things about doing this during food and wine is you can keep getting little things to eat during your journey.
Not for the faint of heart and take your time!! It made more sense to us to hit the different venues in a hop order. In other words we would get something and take our time drinking it. When finished we'd hit the closes one we hadn't tried yet. We started about 11 AM and finished with the fire works. All the walking helps too!!
PS I can't recall everything I drank!!

I was usually the designated driver around the world. Once I tried to eat around the world while my alcoholic friends were drinking and it was almost worse and just as expensive.

If you want to try this I suggest you don't go for the Viking size beer in Norway. It's so big you won't have room for anything else!

DH and I were going to try this on our anniversary trip in September (1st visit without kids :D ). However, after reading some of your experiences, I think maybe we'll split each drink

This is pretty much the tale of my trip around World Showcase too! Though I preferred several years back when they had imported Guiness; last time we tried they had 'domestic' stuff. Bleh. The imperial sampler was good too... see this is why I don't make it past the UK. I need to start in Mexico next time.

ALL DRAFT GUINESS comes from St James Gate. Or so I am told.

Indeed and I love it. Just the last time (two times, actually) I ordered it in the Rose & Crown it tasted very very very much like the stuff that you get in cans, rather than proper draught. When I asked about it the server said itw was because they'd "stopped importing". Maybe they were just having an off night with the taps (or couple of nights).

I am going to pace myself next time so that I can at least sample something from each country. Mexico sounds like a good place to finish up so I can float along on the El Rio De Tiempo!

it's not El Rio del Tiempo anymore. it's not the Gran Fiesta Tour. It doesn;t seem like the relaxing boat ride with the relaxing music anymore. it's now got Dinald Duck all over the place...
