Best of luck to all of the runners. I wish I was a runner just so that I could run in a WDW race and have the unique experience that comes from everything one sees during the race. Maybe it could be a pipe dream that I work up to down the road? Long road that is...

I've always thought that too, but I'm just not a runner...My brother did the Tower of Terror in-line skating marathon once, and I briefly considered that...but I'm not that keen on rollerblades anymore either. I guess I shall just have to be content to put in my mileage as a regular park guest :D

We're flying Southwest, so I can have TWO checked bags. Can you handle flying in the baggage compartment? :)

Not a problem. I can stretch out, grab a couple hour nap and arrive refreshed and ready to hit the ground running

Ok...I hope you are all happy with yourselves!
All this talk has convinced me to attempt my first marathon this coming January with you all...!!
Some of you might remember that I ran my 1st half marathon last year at the Happiest Place on Earth, but after kicking it around and reading all of your inspirational posts...I am GOING FOR IT!!
There are days I am scared to death and there are days I think that I will be fine...
Regardless, I am signed up and ready to run!
:)
I am so excited...see you all there!
I sense a little Mayhem in my future... ;)

I guess I need to change my signature, huh?

Awesome WWDRH! Now I have to go down there to root you on. And since I will be there anyway, I guess I should do the 5K, right? haha...

WWDRH, You so rock in going for your first full !! I will be in the same boat with you, January will be my first full as well. I have run 3 half marathons and will run my 4th half in November at the Wine and Dine, but this full will be a new experience for me. Maybe we can get a group rate for finish line medical attention.
Best of luck to you and please keep us posted on how the training is progressing.

Back atcha cccmouse!!
I have run one half (last years WDW half) and I am running another local one in november as well.
I will keep everyone posted.

NaCler: you better get your butt in gear for a 5K!

I am up to 11 miles. I feel good-my long runs have been going well. I still get very anxious when I think about running 26.2 miles but then a soothing voice (my wife's) tells me: That's why we train!!

See you all then!

Is Mrs. WWDRH running the full as well?

Yes indeed...in fact I blame her for this for real...I just "blamed" you all as a way to jump into this conversation ;) and mostly as a joke :D
I convinced her to use the half that she is running in November as a springboard to train for the whole at WDW...she mulled it over for awhile and agreed. Since we train together, she said, "ya know you will be right there with me in training, you ought to do it too."
I had already signed up for the half and I transferred when I saw it get to 93% full...I figured 'what the heck' after I saw the awesome medal.
:)
let's hope I am ready!

I need to sign onto a computer other than my iPad so I can fix my signature ticker!

Now there's an offer guys your own personal paramedic not many runners will have that.
I will be behind you all the way don't forget to post your numbers so we can follow you on your adventure. :D

On a side note but not unrelated I will be attempting my first half marathon in 11 days. Training is going well I am up to 11 miles not fast but within the limits for WDW my ultimate goal is that Mickey medal ( who knows if I will ever make it) but that is in the future I have to get through this half first.
