A new restaurant at Magic Kingdom was definitely in order. I love the Crystal Palace but even with reservations, you end up waiting 30 minutes or more to get seated. Liberty Tree Tavern is a favorite but for our 2nd day at the park, we usually leave to go to Contemporary, Polynesian or Grand Florridian for dinner. I'm glad to have another choice right there in the park.

They released the menu! Sounds so good... doesn't help that it's about lunch time, either.

I wonder if they will attempt to make this a signature restaurant for dinner somewhere down the line. The fact that they are referring to it as "quick service" for lunch and "table service" for dinner makes me think that may happen eventually.

That said...I hope they don't charge you a TS credit for lunch if they are making you order your food via a kiosk.

I just got done reading this article! Sounds like it will be tasty. And a good way for us to actually see it during lunch as a counter service :D

I would think that since they are calling it a quick service for lunch, they wouldn't try to charge you a TS credit...that would be pretty low :(

Right...but notice they specifically say it is "not counter service". So I wonder if they will try to justify the TS credit because a CM will be bringing your food to you on real plates.

Maybe, but I think that since they have the words "quick service" in there, it should be ok...hopefully!
...“Lunch is quick service, but not traditional counter service,” says Deardorff. Guest-activated terminals make ordering a snap (there also will be traditional cashiers for cash orders and special dietary requests). You order, take a seat and lunch is delivered to your table – on china, not paper..."

It should be interesting to see what Disney does with this restaurant. My personal feeling is that from the looks it will be too massive to be a signature AND they already have CRT for signature nearby. For me this restaurant will be a must do on my next vacation (whenever that may be) and is a major plus for the Magic Kingdom. Just think they only had 4 TS restaurants for dinner before hand (Crystal Palace, CRT, Tony's, Liberty Tree).

I think I'd enjoy the food there but there's one thing Disney does at alot of the restaurants....they don't put things on the menu that kids like!!! my daughter doesn't want fancy sandwiches.Give her peanut butter and she's happy.Maybe most kids aren't like her but it would be nice if they'd remember the picky eaters as well.

A lot of the children's menu does seem to consist of mac and cheese or chicken nuggets. It seemed like there were a few places last time that had those peanut butter and jelly snackables. Does your daughter like those? I think most of the restaurants, especially the fancier ones would be accommodating if you asked them to make a peanut butter sandwich for your child.

That's really funny, because when we were in WDW in 2008, my then-9-year-old got really, really sick of the kids' menu, and was annoyed that she couldn't have the "yummy" things on the adult menu. I ended up collaborating with her with my meal and then sharing. :)

I've never wanted to eat some where so badly in my entire life! I can not wait until they open to see more pictures and hear stories about it. I can just imagine the music loop already! :D Hopefully some day I will be able to visit in person. They have been posting detail shots on various Disney Facebook pages of this and other parts of the new Fantasyland as well. Here is a link in case anyone is interested in the detail shots - http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 618&type=1

I still haven't had a chance to see the new expansion to the Magic Kingdom. I'm planning on trying to go check it out in the fall or winter. But, I'm anxious to eat here when it is done! It looks like its gonna be amazing to see. I hope the wallpaper looks as good as it seems. Like others said, maybe they'll paint over it to stick out more, or change it out with the seasons. Either way, I'm anxious to see this.

I am just SO GLAD that it is a handpainted mural and not some computer generated screen. That it has that artistic human touch makes it all the more special.

One thing that would have been interesting to add would be projection (possibly using pico projectors) to give some life to the background.
