I agree. I would love to see it updated to provide varying ride experiences (like ToT and SW2). My idea is that the track could have several split points where you experience different tests depending on which way your car happens to go - one car goes right, the next goes left, etc. There would still be a limited number of tests, but you would get a different mix each ride. They would have to work out timing issues so that cars wouldn't get held up at transition points, waiting to move to the next test, plus I'm sure they'd want everyone to experience the crash/high speed ending section, but I'm sure they could overcome all of that and make it even better than I can imagine.
Unfortunately that would be a huge, expensive overhaul that would probably require more space than they have in the attraction currently, so it's pretty unlikely to happen. I think Len's idea of them updating the videos and scenery is right. Maybe they'll at least update one or two of the tests and get the queue special effects working again.
My wife always screams out, I want to go on Track B!!!!( since the sign says track a/b when you begin to go "up the mountain) We always laugh when we go voer the Belgium blocks cause my belly jiggles like jello!!)

I like the look of the new cars, this attraction is in serious need of a refurb! My friend, Tim, is a huge Chevy guy, so I'm sure he will like the big Chevy emblem on the front. Me, I'm more of a Ford girl
Hoping they at least update the video in the queue area, that's looking sad already as others have posted, some of those vehicles they don't make anymore!

Honestly, I don't like the new design! It looks like a cheesy family car. They should do a Corvette, or even better: the new Camaro! Yeah... that would rock! And I'm with everyone who says the whole thing needs an update... especially the preshow! The video is waaaaaay outdated. But I still love the ride and always will. It's one of my faves.

There was a Disneyland update (thanks Ms Swann) a long time ago that showed cars being tested in Cars Land. They already have the track in place, they would just test there. I believe what the CM told Len and that these are definitely for a Test Track refurb and hopefully soon. I haven't ridden TT in forever as I had "been there, done that" and it wasn't exciting anymore. I can't wait for an update so I can justify riding it again.
Possibly they are looking at durability since they have the rare opportunity for real world testing since a clone exists already.

Maybe the reason it looks like a family mini-van is the fact the cars seem longer than before. It definitely looks like it has more leg-room than the previous model.

That's funny! I had forgotten about the "two" tracks this past December until I went on it twice and remembered that the car always goes the same way

You're getting skinnier though, so you probably don't jiggle quite so much anymore

Little Vettes would be cool

but not as practical since you can only fit two people in one of those

I was thinking the same thing as you Wizz...durability testing. Heaven help me if I'm starting to have the same thought processes as you
I never saw the videos in the queue or pre-show. I only went FP this past trip and they held you at the line until the pre-show was over, then scootched you on through with the previous batch of test dummies!

If you do then you're on your way to getting "Ladders" salaries.
The nice thing about the single rider line at test track is that you also usually get to skip the pre-show. They just open the doors on both ends and tell you to go through. Not the smartest single rider system though since (if I recall) you end up in the same final waiting area as everyone else so they can't use you as effectively as they would like.
I wonder if we are going to have a pre-show room for the Cars version? I don't know if it's a space issue but we aren't as big on the pre-show holding area between the main line and the boarding line.

I don't know what a "ladders" salary entails, but I'm sure it is, at the very least, a step, or several steps

, up from my current salary as a piano instructor! Sign me up!
You have remembered correctly, the single rider line at Test Track does put you in the same queue after the pre-show area. Once you get a little closer to the load area, they do occasionally pull out single riders. It doesn't matter either way as the wait is pretty short once you get in that area...unless the attraction goes down
I have noticed that DL doesn't have all the pre-show hoopla. I'm thinking it is a little bit of not as much space as well as local visitors who wouldn't care to sit/stand through a pre-show every time they go...

Ladders is some job search site, their tagline (if I recall) is "100k+ jobs for 100k+ talent", they are basically just some BS headhunting service where both sides pay.
The only rides I can think of with a pre-show holding area and a line afterwards at DLR are HM, ToT, and Indy (kinda, they stop the line and make sure you see the part about putting on a seatbelt and then let it go again)

For those wondering, the "new" vehicle is just a re-paint of a pre-existing vehicle (#3) that was sent to Central Shops (behind MK for those who don't know or forgot). It is just the first of many re-paints. And about the refurb next year, from what I hear, they are planning on getting rid of the briefing rooms and re-do most of the scenes inside.
Oh, and no, the new vehicle is not for testing for Carsland. They did that last year on-site, remember?

I wonder if they are planning to re-do the queues to finally have three separate queues: Fast Pass, Single Rider, and Stand-By?

I'm with you on that one:). I made sure my wife and kids didn't hang out long in the showroom area, since I didn't want their minds being polluted by all that GM stuff;)

Could be the reason for getting rid of the briefing rooms. I do know that most CMs, past and present,
hate the photocell position where standby and fastpass merge and single splits off from them.
