Main Street Electrical Parade VS. Spectromagic?

Oh I love it!!!

This alone is reason to completely choose Spectro over MSEP! Some of the best in all of park music!

I love them both....but I grew up with MSEP, so I have to vote for that one. It holds alot of wonderful memories for me. I must say, though, I enjoy the music for Spectromagic more.

We saw MSEP on our first trip in 1984. I'll always remember houw our 9 and 11-year old daughters were awed by it - and I was too. Spectromagic is its legacy, and I find that I really enjoy it more for its improved light effectgs, energy, and music. But I will always love them both. I am looking forward to seeing MSEP again in October when Wife and I return.

As much as I hate to side between a classic and it's replacement, I'd have to say that I prefer Spectromagic. I mean, the Main Street Electrical Parade was before it's time- it was magical! But we need to face that there are reasons that things become replaced- this new generation has no idea who Pete and Elliot are, nor is the technology anything spectacular. I'm not saying that I don't like the parade, I think it's great- but for this place and time Spectromagic is the best fit, in my opinion.

I'm another vote for MSEP. Probably just nostalgia, but I've always loved the music. Plus, how could anything be bad if it has Pete's Dragon in it? Are there any other references to Pete's Dragon at any of the theme parks other than that parade?

I bought a china Elliot from the store that sells watches on Main Street about 4 years ago apart from that I have never seen anything with him.
My vote is for MSEP , I think the manikin men are a bit ghoulish on Spectro.

During the last time it was down and temporarily replaced by the MSEP, the Spectromen came back looking stranger than before. Plus, I like Roger Rabbitt over the Genie personally in Spectro (but I understand they took him out due to an ongoing lawsuit at the time).

I tell ya - you people toss aside MSEP for Spectro - it's like gladly tossing aside Horizons for Mission: Space because its newer and shinier...

Newer and Shinier isnt always bad, it depends on the attraction. I think some rides, the classics were better. The original journey into imagination was the best, but at the same time, Circle of Lufe is much better than Symbiosis (that movie put me to sleep every time).

In this case, I like SpectroMagic better. I like the MSEP, but if forced to choose, I'd go with spectro
