I just assume we were on a beach that had no music piped in. Didn't know that when we got there. I'm actually not even sure why there was no music piped in because they could direct the speakers away from the rooms if they were worried about noise. Then again...the boom from the fireworks is louder than the music anyway...so I don't know.

Maybe next trip down there.

Suggestion: drop by the front desk to ask what areas out back have the piped in music for the fireworks.

Rum???!!! Did someone say rum???!!!

Glad to see Boilerdude checking back in... I have it on good authority that Boilerbabe should be back soon as well.

To set the record straight: I supplied the rum for all the Mayhem Marauders at the big meet-up, and despite all my teasing to the contrary, Boilerdude did not drink all of it. In fact, I seem to recall that a couple of us (...cough, cough...Amy...cough...) had a few bottles left over that we smuggled into MK later. Shhhhhh.... don't tell anyone. 8-)

But normally, if the rum is all gone, it is Boilerdude's fault...

Man, b-dude gets the raw end of deal, don't he? Everyone points their finger at him (while secretly hiding a small bottle on their person)...

I didn't sneak it in on purpose!! I had a little of my rum with the Dole Whip, and F1gment didn't crack open her bottle since we were sharing the Dole Whip anyhow, so I simply stuck the remaining rum in my backpack. Where the bottles remained until about 3 or 4 days later when I was cleaning out my backpack of things that I didn't need so it wouldn't be quite so heavy  I just think it is amusing that security never found it in any of their "thorough" bag checks at security

Wizzard419 wrote:Can you give us any price examples? I know you say "no one in their right mind" but (such as with the ToT costume) you could probably get several grand since they are so rare.
Never happened to me but from what I've heard they've charged from a few hundred and into the thousands. And that was for just a piece of a costume not the whole thing so I could only imagine a whole ToT outfit (not one of the ones I've heard about): top, pants, hat, the things on the shoulders and the thing around your left arm, and an optional trench coat. That is a lot of pieces of one costume that they can overcharge you for that you will have to pay back. So like I said, if you want to try and make a profit off it, good luck.

Agreed, we have diverted from the original topic as per this thread's title.

I sent a pm to Len this morning asking that the whole CM costume discussion be moved into a new thread so it can be continued under the proper heading...

Back to "Wishes from the Poly Beach".....hopefully they will be back to playing the music in September. It really does add to the show...unless it's playing during the electrical water pagent.....then it's just confusing.

Has that happened before when you were there? Music for both the electrical water pageant and fireworks all at once? That would be weird!

Yes, a few years ago the fireworks were at 9pm and that's the same time the EWP is in front of the Polynesian.
The fireworks were going off over the crazy water animals' heads. I would definitely rather see them one at a time to enjoy them fully.

I've never seen the EWP, and quite honestly I forgot all about it when we went to the Poly for Wishes. I wonder if it was earlier or not running at all when we were there in December?

I know the EWP had ran one time in December a few years back when I stayed at the Contemporary. I had the view of the Bay Lake area from my hotel room, so I got to watch the whole thing from the balcony of my room.

I've heard that the EWP is actually best viewed from up higher like from a hotel room. I know we saw the floats when we took our day-long Behind the Scenes tour at WDW. They weren't very impressive looking in the daytime but someone said they really are pretty reflected in the water at night.

I have seen it from the monorail and the Contemporary. I never remember any music though.
