Why would I not agree?mindflipper wrote:I think most people would agree (except for Jacca5660) that the whole park could use a massive renovation. Maybe Disney could think about this down the road after the MK Fantasyland Expansion/Renovation?
The only point of contention between us is TGMR. I feel it should be upgraded with keeping the flavor of the original classic time honored flavor of what made Hollywood great movies and you feel it should be gutted like a fish. Just because I don't think that Disney should fill it with such tried and true Disney properties such as Miley Cyrus, Raven, and great movies tittles such as Old Dogs, Tigger & Pooh and a Musical Too, and High School Musical 3: Senior.
No we agree on most everything else. At least when you're not libating (Please add that to the Subictionary).
PS Maybe they should rename Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie Power Drop!

Wait up... Hold on there... While I am not a fan of watching Playhouse Disney because of my kids watching it ALL of the time at home. Playhouse Disney Live is one of the best things at DHS. There are not a lot of on-stage shows that are appropriate or can hold the attention of the 2-5 year old range on Disney property. It will be one of the biggest highlights of our trip for our 2 year old, so we are looking forward to it. Actually, if it wasn't for PDL, the Toy Story ride and the Pixar parade, we probably wouldn't even consider going to DHS while our kids are so young.Soarin08 wrote:...Get rid of Playhouse Disney. PDL always seems to be crowded when we go there and people camp out 20-30 minutes before each show, so I don't know if I would call it a waste of good space.

The problem I am realizing I have more and more with DHS is that it lacks the continuity of story that the other parks have. That's ironic as it's essentially the only park themed one way: a movie lot. I think that's the problem though, everything is sorta the same, except when it's not and then it's REALLY not. Everything is sorta just this bland mauve tone. Everything is sort of this art-deco SoCal style or architecture, which I think is great for Sunset & Hollywood Blvds but that's where it needs to end. Then when it finally does end randomly there's a jungle, an alien outpost, a street from NYC...in winter, etc. They don't make sense they're just randomly plopped ideas without a cohesive theme to actually make them fit. Okay, okay so the winter NYC scene is technically "The Streets of America" but none of that area makes a whole lot of sense to me- the only things they have there are the Muppets and a stunt show...set in France....I didn't realize France was in America.mindflipper wrote:I think most people would agree (except for Jacca5660) that the whole park could use a massive renovation. I think they're improving on this front with the addition of Pixar studios but they still have a long way to go. And I really kind of wish Pixar Studios showed up years ago, then maybe Monsters, Inc. and Nemo could have been stuffed there instead of infecting Tomorrow Land and Future World...
I thought this was a good idea for DCA and it would be good for DHS, too. Why not rename it "Pixar Studios" and gear the rides/attractions to Pixar?Mr.ToadWildRider wrote: I think they're improving on this front with the addition of Pixar studios but they still have a long way to go. I agree. Nemo and Monsters Inc. needs to be here. I mean, I wish the Living Seas could be put back to what it was and all the Nemo stuff be moved here to DHS. Maybe after the Fantasyland thing??momeja wrote:I thought this was a good idea for DCA and it would be good for DHS, too. I agree with most, get rid of the hat first.
Then, get rid of Sounds Dangerous (was open last week).
Finally, expand the studio tour or get rid of it altogether. What they have now is not worth touring, except for the little room with all the props you walk through before boarding the tram. That's the coolest part.
Oh, and I almost forgot - kill off that lame Narnia exhibit.

No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.
I approve of all of that.horizons1 wrote:I agree with most, get rid of the hat first.

The hat is just too much. A bit claustrophobic stuck in the middle there.
Sounds Dangerous is pretty much dead, put it out of its misery.
Expand the backlot tour, indeed!!
GET RID OF NARNIA!!
And y'know, get rid of that stupid American Idol thing too...

Although DH and I do not have any children yet...we had to laugh b/c one evening while we were in DHS, we noticed all the little kids at the Playhouse Disney going absolutely crazy, just having the best time! We said "how cute" this is where little ones go to lose their minds!NaCler wrote:Wait up... Hold on there... I just think it should be redone into more of a thing that EVERYONE can enjoy, regardless of whether you're a little child or not. I am sure there are parents who would prefer an experience that is as enjoyable for them as it is for their children.boilerbabe wrote:Although DH and I do not have any children yet...we had to laugh b/c one evening while we were in DHS, we noticed all the little kids at the Playhouse Disney going absolutely crazy, just having the best time! Re: What would you change in the Studios?
Well, I would start by rewriting the script for the "director" just before they let everyone in.
He is just a little too Mediterranean ethnic...a friend of mine who is proudly Italian commented on this to me and til then I hadn't realized that maybe it was a bit over the top offensive...he needs to be more generic.
Then I would gut the Great Movie Ride, update it and remove the melting Sigourney Weaver and the Tarzan, and re-do it as a ride and dine attraction, like Blue Bayou in California.
