My objection to comments like those above isn't that the masses should rise up and overthrow the CEO or even boycott Disney, but that all these casual "Don't blame Disney because of X" messages are a very clear sign that Disney is winning the war of diminished expectations.kcarts wrote:Disney didn't build it. A contractor did. They should be held accountable. If you want to blame Disney for something, blame them for not vetting the contractor they used well enough.
If you have a bad experience at a Disney park, you shouldn't shrug and blame a contractor, you should hold Disney responsible. It's not the customer's job to care about internal Disney issues. Maybe the contractor is the reason the thing doesn't/didn't work, but that's not your problem.
No customer should be making excuses for Disney. Disney's job is to provide the experience it's advertising and selling to you for a whole lot of money.
You guys are funding all this stuff and you shouldn't be lulled into thinking Disney is some magnanimous corporation who is doing you a favor when nice things happen to you. It is their job to make all this stuff happen, and if it doesn't happen, they have failed to live up to their end of the bargain.
I'm not saying "broken Yeti = ruined vacation", but I am saying that the broken Yeti shouldn't be something you excuse because Disney has some internal problem. That's not of your concern. You should be more concerned with getting Disney to deliver on their promise to you, for which you have paid dearly.
It's like buying a new car and the dealer screws you out of floor mats. It's not worth the hassle of returning the car, and it's not going to taint the vehicle forever, but, dammit, you just paid a lot of money for the thing, and you deserve to get what you paid for, even if the guy at the dealership is having problems with his wife and is currently absent-minded at work.
Not your problem.
It's no reason to go to war, but if you have the chance to fill out one of the many surveys available to you, bring it up. You paid for it, it's your right be to freaked out by a properly spooky Yeti and Disney's obligation to provide it.

I agree - it's a roller-coaster, first and last. Do I care about the Yeti? No, not really, its the least reason I would ride AK's EE. Heck, the DL's Matterhorn's Yeti isn't animated, but whether it is or isn't does factor into my decision to ride the Matterhorn.kcarts wrote: I just don't see the point of closing down EE b/c the Yeti doesn't move. I ride it b/c it's a great roller coaster. Not b/c of the Yeti. Put an AA Yeti on It's a Small World and I'm still not riding it.

Yeah, you know, I couldn't put my finger on it at the time, but that's it! The first time we rode EE there was this huge scary Yeti thing lunging at us, and then last trip all we remember seeing was this not-so-scary shadow! I remember thinking, "what's wrong here...?"jenajustin wrote:Last trip all we got was the shadow
But like others have said, it goes by so fast that you don't really have a chance to think about it unless you put your mind to it. Either way, though, Disney does have an obligation to give us what we pay for, and in the case of a ride that is supposed to do a certain thing, then by-gum it should do it!

Is it wrong to give a YETI a cold beer? My dog likes them.

Rex waiting for a cold beer! He's also a rescue dog!
