Thats me. I don't remember ever haveing motion sickness till I rode Body Wars. I thought it was a freak thing so I went on Star Tours. I was so sick. I tried closeing my eyes, and I think that made it worse. Allmost ruined my day. So I have been realy affraid of trying anything like that every again. It might just be all in my head but I swear I get dizzy just watching the Tea Cups.

Nothing motion sicky about the ride, IMHO... Just a little worrying about falling off the seat... (you're up int he air quite a bit). The overall effect of the ride is "beautiful!" -- not thrill ride-ish
No, no... He's got a point.

Exactly; it's more "breath-taking" and "scenic" than "OMGFASTYEAAAH"

For those who are a little hesitant of the dizziness and or thrill rides, it's usually a little nerve-wracking the first time. You are hecksa high up, afterall. But after the ride, you'll wanna go on again and again(at least I did).

even if you're high up off the ground, you have to be safe. Theme parks need to comply to safety regulations regarding new rides of any kind. and, do you really think that Disney would green-light a ride that people could honestly get hurt on. Even someone intentionally trying to hurt themselves now will be hard-pressed to do so (on the newer rides, that is. older rides are not bound to the new ride regulations).

I can't wait to try this (the ride, not the intentional escape) next time I go down. been looking forward to it for a long time.

knowing your safe (and I always feel save on Disney rides) and just plain being a fraidy cat are two different things. I have never not ridden a ride at Disney because I didn't feel safe, but only because I don't get the thrill most people do, I just panic.

As far as the height thing, I never looked down, just straight ahead. If I looked down, then I would probably never ride it again. It also helps that it is not like a ferris wheel out in the open where you see all your immediate surroundings down below you. It is pretty dark except for the movie screen in front of you.

Ok - so has anyone out there been on both the Epcot and DCA ones? I'm curious to get a comparison of the queues, etc. I've seen some photos and the Epcot one looks much better but curious to hear some reactions on it.

I just talked to my son who is working at WDW this summer. He has the afternoon off and is over at EPCOT right now. They went into Soarin around 2:30 and all the Fast Passes were gone for the day and the stand-by line was 150 minutes long....... They are going to go back later in the day and see if the line has gone down any.

That is a bit of a line there - I like the ride but not that much! At least it is a hit with the east coast crowds it sounds like, always good to see. Not like they had to worry, the ride premise is amazing...

They never made it back to see if the line was any shorter. They said they have the whole summer so why wait in line.

I think the best approach for the regular Guest is to get there very early, grab a FastPass and if the standy-by line is not long, do standy-by and then the FastPass.

Someone asked me if there was a singles line at WDW's Soarin' like there is at Test Track, and I can honestly say I never noticed one. Is there one at DisneyLand?

No, there is not. Because there are a bunch of seats on each "vehicle", they can do a good job of moving groups around to fill them all. ie, we put the group of three on ths line and move the group of two to that line. Sometimes they ask for a single rider, and there usually is someone in the line that volunteers.

Soarin'

So does it soar over Florida this time? Because Soarin' over California wouldn't make much sense to people in Orlando since they aren't there.

You know, I never thought about it. But from the hints people are dropping, it sounds like it's still in Ca. Because then my previous posts wouldn't make sense.

From what I heard, it is an exact copy of DCA's version for the time being. They plan on changing the film for Florida sometime next year.

Please let it not be Soarin over Swampland, I mean Florida. That would be lame. But we've already come to that conclusion in other posts :D

That would be kinda weird. Florida gets their own version, but I doubt it will be Florida themed.
