I just couldn't believe that it was Meatloaf who was the bully in CC. I was like...isnt he a singer and much older than a kid in high school?
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Huh? Really? I'll have to dig out my videotape. IMDB credits the bully's voice but not the actor in the movie:

Ohhh ok I always thought he was the bully too. My bad. Weird that it's just his voice.

I can't believe they closed. I loved this pavilion so much. I must cherish every ride next time I go to Disney World.

Looks like those might be the last pics I will ever get to take inside Wonders of Life according to this article that appeared in touringplans.com yesterday:
touringplans.com wrote:Wonder no more..

A final death knell for the Wonders of Life pavilion at Epcot has sounded. Permits have been filed to demolish the interior structures of the dome and to remove power supplies to the various displays. The building is being rechristened, formally, as the Special Event Pavilion.
Sad. Very very sad.

It is very sad that the pavillion is truly be gone. I am guessing that if they have the permits, it is going to happen pretty soon. If anyone wants to "sneak in" like they were talking about in the last page or so, you better get on it.

I do remember Hans and Franz. And I do remember the pavillion. When I lived in Orlando from 2001 to 2005, I loved to visit it. I prided myself on riding Body Wars several times in a row. I love my iron stomach!!! :)
I also loved Goofy about Health. I love those sports Goofy cartoons that Disney made for a while. I wish I could find a collection of them!

I hate that I never got to visit it one last time. I was there during the Food and Wine festival last year, and honestly if I had known the ride entrances were still there, and some of the signs and stuff, I would have found some excuse to go in.

*sadface*

Very sad indeed. It really feel like yesterday I was on one of those arcade bikes there after riding Body Wars. So I guess this would mean a lot of the Star Tours rumors are false with Lucas films testing out a new film on the Body Wars simulators.

It is very sad that they are finally get rid of everything that is WoL, but even when I went in there during Food & Wine, it was all too sad to see it in the shape that it was to begin with...I just would cry, remembering what the pavillion USED to be like.

Do WE really need another special events pavillion in EPCOT? They already have Mill. Celebration, Odyssey, Alot of VIP areas in each country....ugh

Very true. I forgot about all of those places. I can't believe they still have done nothing with the Millenium celebration pavillion. It is a shame to see that they constructed a building just for a year or two of use. It just seems like everywhere you turn in Epcot now there is a fence that looks like it just leads to a Cast member only location but it really leads to an abandoned pavillion.

Amen. It's outrageous, when you think about it. And it's one reason why I tell people that the best time to visit EPCOT, if you want to have a good time, is 1989.

Not only that, but it is a confirmed fact that there is enough space for 1, and probably even 2 other pavillions around the World Showcase, but they keep updating and such. I know there were plans in the past for more, but with the economy the way it is, I doubt it will ever happen.

I have heard that too about the space. I really hope that Disney realizes this and tries to take advantage of the space they have there.

You can actually see the parcels of land that would fit other pavilions on overhead shots (google earth and the like). The millenium pavilion does still get used for various functions, too. They did Party for the Senses there during Food and Wine last year (and the year before that, as far as I remember), and do corporate functions there. Whether or not that's the best use of the space is debatable - and I'd be inclined to say no - but Disney's certainly still making use of it. I would assume they're still turning a profit off it as well, considering what the party tickets cost and what they charge for private/corporate functions. Given that, I'm not surprised they just shut it to 'the public' and use it for other purposes.

I was just reading on another website that the permits that were filed were for demolition of the Fitness Works playground in the middle of the pavilion. They are apparently making the building into a special events pavilion so it makes sense that they would want to clear out the whole middle space. Probably means Making of Me theater will be taken out too.

But maybe the Body Wars and Cranium Command stuff will be kept in mothballs? I hope I hope I hope.
