I've heard all of these except Autopia/Indy Speedway. They all have merit, but who knows until the closure and rehab start.

You have GOT to be kidding, right? The speedway was behind its time when it was built in the 70's! It is the most out-of-place ride in all of WDW. Might as well have put a Scrambler ride or a Ferris Wheel there. Cheapen the experience? They did that when they built it in the first place.

Something really needs to happen to the speedway. What is "tomorrow" about 1960's-era cars on a track? What's "fantasy" about riding around in a car on a rail? It doesn't fit in Tomorrowland (never did) and doesn't fit in Fantasy Land (never did). If they insist on having a car-themed ride in this area, then re-theme it with characters from the Cars movie (FantasyLand), or re-theme the cars as spaceships (Tomorrowland).

I always wonder where Tomorrowland Speedway is supposed to fit in when I go. It does seem rather out of place....

It would be nice to see CoP get some real love though. It's still a genius idea for a show...make the guests rotate around the stages. I just love the CoP!

The Speedway was built in Magic Kingdom simply for it's popularity at Disneyland, it was never futuristic in WDW. The Disneyland Autopia opened in 1955 before the invention of the Intersate, thus making it transportation of the future. I say use cars of the future (solar powered, hydrogen, anything) or rip it out.

Given the proximity of the Speedway to ToonTown Fair, they could probably re-purpose it (or at least that area) easily enough to include characters. Move the entrance to the other side, throw up some trees on the TL-view side, maybe trim the track loop back out of TL, add some cartoon-y looking cars and voila.

Speaking of rehab rumors....

Space Mt is only going to get a six month rehab and not the full one DL Space Mt received a year or so ago.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience is going to close to become a new 3-D movie. Not sure what yet.

I would hope they wouldn't ruin the originality of the speedway. And COP could use some love, that ride is one of my most favorite! It holds a special place in my heart. It has Walt written all over it!

...and change the look of the cars to match the cars on ToonTown Online. I could dig that.

I still say the Speedway should be rethemed to either Mr. Toad or Roger Rabbit. Either would be kewl.

I think Soarin' Around the World would be a neat idea. The music is so awesome right now, I would hate to have them change that.

Is there any information available yet on the space mountain update? Will it be closing for this summer?

I would love a CoP redo for two reasons:

1. It guarantees the attraction is not going away anytime soon
2. It potentially gets rid of that gawdawful VR video game bit in the finale

YES! That "future" scene is really outdated. That laptop the mom is using to control the house looks like it was built in the '90s and the TV looks like something I could have bought at least 3 years ago. And don't even get me started on that '90s decor...

As bad as it is, I actually enjoy seeing what people imagined the future to be like years ago. It is always interesting to see how close... or far they are from the reality.
