I know that Sea World, Busch Gardens and Universal all have park mugs that have discounted refills... it is like a $1 or so for a refill.

All the mugs at all the resorts are now Year of a Million Dreams style - so if you were of the mind you could bring them to any resort to get a refill. As a quick side note, it looks like the Contemporary no longer has refillable mugs (at least during construction).

We always get them for our two week stays. However, I would like to see the mug itself redesigned. It's rather bulky, so I hate getting a drink in the morning and lugging it with me on the bus. Further, it takes up more space than I'd care for in my luggage. I wish they would give it a sleeker design.

Make sense, after all if you get all you want to drink... they'd be better off to make it a little smaller which would encourage less waste too!

I have a semi-related question.

Does anyone know if the Year of a Million Dreams mugs from 2007 will be refillable in 2008?

lebeau, good question... I cannot say. I can tell you this, my family used to go to WDW a lot and we bought mugs from 3 of the resorts that we used for about 3 years. We have not used them in almost 2 years. We will bring one down next time we go and see what happens and I will let you know.

The Year of a Million Dreams mug is sleeker (more like the usual coffee mugs you can fit in your car cup holder). And yes, the 2008 is the same as the 2007, unless they've put a new one out since early January.

The reason I ask is that my brother is getting ready to go to WDW for two weeks in March (lucky @!#$^!) He'll be spending one week at Corando Springs and another at Caribbean Beach Resort. I thought it might be cool to get him a mug he could use at both resorts before he leaves.

I've seen several Year of a Million Dreams mugs on e-bay, but they all have 2007 printed on them. So, I wasn't sure if they would still be good in 2008.

Another question for anyone who knows. I know my brother has a Corando Springs mug from last year. Will he be able to refill it or will they only refill YoMD mugs?

Thanks for any info!

I believe only the Year of a Million Dreams mugs are accepted now. I didn't notice a date on ours, but I wasn't looking too close as I filled up on anything tastier than Florida tap water!

We purchased them on our honeymoon 10 years ago and thought that it was really worth the money. We have been back 5 times since then and have not purchased them again. I guess we have just not thought about it, plus we have had small children with us so it was more of a hassle to keep up with the mugs than when it was just the two of us :). Also, this past fall we were on the meal plan so we really did not need them. As our children get older we will probably purchase them again, even with the price increase.

I'm glad to hear that the new ones are sleeker. I'll look for them on my next trip.

We have always bought them, and I'm pretty sure we always will. We usually buy a case of water to keep in the room, but we always get the mugs for our meals.

It makes a lot of sense to get them...personally, I get my money's worth just within the first few days refilling with coffee alone.
