I wouldn't mind having a corporate job with Disney. I'm in HR, so it'd likely have to be in CA. I don't want anything to do with staffing the parks.

I am a former Disney Store Cast Member. Back when Disney still owned the stores. It was my first job in 20 years. Oh, I was so proud to put my Disney costume on and my badge. I loved working for Mickey Mouse. I received the Team Work Award, went to Disney World and Disneyland as a Cast Member. It was during my position as a Cast Member that I went to Disneyland twice.
What a very exciting, fun filled time of my life!

I would love to be a Haunted Mansion CM just because they have the coolest costumes and actually add to the theming of the attraction. Really anything would be great though. Even sweeping up and cleaning would be fun because you would be all over the park.

Ghosthost,
You mentioned you would like to be a Haunted Mansion CM. What a great job that would be. Staying in character no matter what! We were exiting the Haunted Mansion at WDW when my son's shoelace got caught in the conveyor belt. The CM stayed in character but helped Erik. It was a bit nerve wrecking at the time, although later we all had a good laugh. I would bet that CM had a laugh when he got off duty that day.
Staying so stern and straight would be difficult for me.

I think the most difficult part would be wearing those thick heavy costumes during the summer months. However, most of the job is inside in the cool dark ride but standing outside in the queu area would be brutal! It would be so cool to stand in the stretching room and tell everyone to "drag your rotting retched bodies away from the walls!"nancynohorse wrote:Ghosthost,

I agree. I just don't know how the people in character costumes cope. I suppose they do really short shifts.GhostHost wrote:nancynohorse wrote:

Yeah, I think they are very limited as to how much time they can spend out in the heat. Of course for the parades they have those enclosed "snow globes" with the air conditioning units on top. I suppose the heat is another reason the characters have "handlers", in case they pass out! I remember the Keys to the Kingdom Tour we went on and or guide telling us that the protocol for being sick while in costume is to "puke in your head". In other words, the head never comes off. You just get sick inside of the head and they clean it up later. Wow! Can you imagine how miserable that would be?Guy wrote:GhostHost wrote:I agree. not anymore. That was the Share a Dream Come True parade I believe. The Disney Dreams Come True Parade that is currently going does not have the snowglobes.GhostHost wrote: Of course for the parades they have those enclosed "snow globes" with the air conditioning units on top.
sorry for going a little OT, now back to your regularly scheduled thread...
