I've been in two of the buildings, one that starts with an A and is really hard to pronounce [Nov 03], and Tahiti [Jan 05]. Tahiti had slightly bigger rooms but other than that not much difference from what I could tell...

Must be the Aotearoa (ow-Tay-a-row-a), building. Thanks for the info. :)

I used to live in Hawaii , and taught in Fiji, so although I'm really excited about someday staying at the Polynesian, I'm afraid it'd be sort of a let down.

When we lived in FL, and I was doing conferences, we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter which was nice but huge with small rooms (all I really remember was crowded room, looong walk with luggage to car & back), and at Coronado Springs Resort, which was kinda cool, but again a loooong walk (or drive) around the lake to the lobby/conference center.

Since those trips, we've just stayed off property. Bigger rooms, easier for driving, and mostly, cheaper = longer visit! :D

Pop Century sounds promising, though!
No, no... He's got a point.

If you think French Quarter is bad, stay away from some of the outer building at Pop Century. Real long walks.

I stayed at POP Century about one year ago. I'll be going back in 2 weeks from today. As far as the value resorts go, I prefer POP over the All Stars. I'd still rather stay at a mod. or deluxe, but if I have to go value, POP is what I would choose. It had pretty good bus service, and I really liked the food court. It is a fun place to go, really.

As far as my favorite resort...I'd have to pick the Polynesian. I love the theme, rooms, and transportation options. I also really like the Kona Cafe.

I thought it was pretty good. I expected to have to make treks to get to the bus but it was about a 3-4 minute walk from my room to the bus waiting area (from the 50's area). Also the pools are heated (not sure how many other resorts have this feature or not) so I was able to go swimming when the temp wasn't all that hot.

I didn't eat at the food court there so can't comment on it, although it all looked very nice and clean (although the smell was a bit weird). The arcade was fun and cheaper than I thought it would be.

I haven't stayed at the All-Stars so I can't compare it but Pop Century is definetly a good value.

Food is 10 times better then the All Star. More for normal people, thought I did eat a lot of Chicken Ceasar salads which may be a little off the cuff for normal Americans. They had great burgers, pizza and even Chili Cheese fries. I am going there in March though I almost swore off Disney after the Season Passes went up so much. I got a 2 year "Gold" pass at Universal for $169.00 last summer. I had to pay almost $400.00 for a year pass at Disney. That's some expensive Pixie Dust.

You get alot more with your Disney pass, so it's more expensive for a reason.

If you mean two more parks, OK, then double Universals for a two year pass. As for discounts, I think they are better are Universal, though they have no cheap hotels. But they also do not have the dreaded buses.

But Disney does seem more magical. Universal is still just an amusements park like 6 flags.
