The video is at http://distantcreations.com/insidethemagic/

Someone in the subsonic chat found it, that's where I heard of it.

Wow, a video already? That's quick. Well the ride was really something. I'm sure people have wrote reviews of the ride already. The first thought i had was, "wow, that was kinda short", lol. My favorite parts were the huge audio animatronic yeti and the backwards journey in the dark.

One cool thing is that cast members get a free gift. It's one of those sun blocker things that you put on your front window in the car. It says, "conquered everest" on it or something. I think it'll be funner the second time around.

So yeah today I thought I had to go into work because that's what my weekly schedule said, but then when I looked at the date, it said, 1-29-06, and that's not till next week. I call the scheduler and it turns out I do have the day off, So now I'm looking for something to do.

Now I don't want this to turn into some kind of trashy Real World thread, but I'm starting to feel a little annoyed with my roommate. You know how some people just can't live without their toys? They just gotta be connected to some kind of media 24/7...no matter who is sleeping in the bed across the room and it's 6am and I don't have work till 2pm. Blah. Oh, and we just got a TV in our room.

Yesterday was a bit weird. Some girl from the "backlands" showkeeping area hung out in our break room- cuz she does that sometimes. She left her backpack there for a long time and then sometime in the afternoon during our "track talk" she comes in and tells us her camera was stolen from her bag. That really sucks because just imagine your pictoral memories of your Disney college program- gone just like that. I felt really bad, but there really isn't anything we could do about it.

After that, I go back "onstage" and do my trash run around Star Tours down to Muppets and Mama Melrose. Then finally I clock out and go back to my locker only to find my lock missing. I'm pretty sure the lock was locked when I left. Nothing was stolen(who would want a smelly sunhat, a maintenance jacket and sunblock?). So I had to take all that stuff out of the locker and take it home with me. I'll just pay a stupid fee for the lock, jeez.

Well today is a nice day, and I feel refreshed, so I'm gonna drag one of my roommates to DAK and go on Expedition Everest.

Addlema, that avatar makes me sea-sick.

Lion, that's a wicked bummer. This past December we were on a tour of the locker area in Epcot alone, and I was just astounded by the sheer numbers. It's worse than high school. Don't know how you could keep stuff straight in there.

Is Chunk from Goonies? I remember that movie.

Well no Expedition Everest today. The ride kept on breaking down and we got tired of waiting for it. So we just saw the final Tarzan Rocks show and then headed to Magic Kingdom which was practically empty. We did Thunder Mountain 4 times straight. It was awesome, but one of my roommates wasn't feeling too hot after. I love riding on that ride while the fireworks are going on. There's just something extra magical about that.

Yeah, there are lockers everywhere. The one I use is in a small room in building 12. There are only about 20 lockers in there. I thought it was small and secluded enough that no one would take stuff from. Oh well.

I have a question: was there a bridge at the bottom of Splash Mountain where people could stand and get wet from the splashes as the log headed down towards the briar patch?

Well if not solve the world's problems, they'll let him through the gate. I love that movie, and I have enjoyed seeing your avatar around the forum.

It seems that Goonies has been on cable A LOT lately.

Have you heard of Hawaiian steak? It's called spam.

Anyways I had to do restrooms for the first time today. And boy, I hated it. Even if it was a pretty calm day, I still had trouble. Well before I even started work, I had to pick up my set of keys for opening the doors to the paper towels, toilet paper, trash cans etc... My manager called the other manager and said I was on my way to pick up the keys at her office. When I get to the office, the manager isn't there. One guy tells me she just left to find me. Well all in all, I ended up going to the managers office three times. It's not a terribly long walk, but it is across the park from where I'm supposed to be.

So I got my keys and I walk into the first restroom. I stare at the floor- there's paper everywhere. I have nothing to pick it up with because i forgot my pan and broom in the break room. So i gotta walk across the park again to get it and then my day really begins. What is supposed to be 15 minutes in a restroom turned out to be like 40 minutes. Blah!

You're supposed to visit each restrooom at least once an hour, this includes the cast member restrooms as well, but those hardly need to be cleaned except during closing. Problem is, I don't remember where the cast member restrooms are. During my restroom training, my trainer showed them all to me in one day, and now I can only remember like 4 of them. I think there's around 13 in all for my Icon area.

Tomorrow I'll just be happy again cleaning the streets. Hopefully it doesn't rain...much.

I really don't know if i wanna pursue a Disney career, especially all the way here in Florida with my family across the country. Well, I'll keep an open mind about things.

Aww, thanks Cheshire Cat, and Addlema!

Well despite my complaining, which i do a lot- i've been having a pretty good time here. I've been meeting a lot of nice guests from all over the place. Greeting and chatting with guests is so fun. I hope I never get tired of it.

I'm not homesick yet, but I think that's because I have really cool roommates(well most anyways). One of them works at Mickey's of Hollywood and Keystone- so on my breaks for after work I make a little visit. Just seeing my roommates and chilling after a hard day's work is awesome.

Come and visit me at work one day! That would make my day.

well I gotta get my bedsheets outta the dryer, or else I gotta wait until 12am to do them, cuz that's when I get off work. Keep dry. Laters ya'll!
