I did the non-spinning side and it was an OK ride. I'm sure the other side adds a lot to the ride but alas, while I love all kinds of rides and do not really fear any, motion sickness prevents me from riding some of them. For the record, motion sickness really, really, really stinks! I have done all the rides at WDW (I think) and I do not plan to ride the spinning side of MS. The Tower of Terror left me a pale shade of green for about a half hour following the 4 drops. If they would add a wussy side, like MS, I would go again, if I knew it would only drop once or twice. But the up and down, up and down, up and down, and up and down did not sit well with me. I feel riding MS would be a bad idea for me, the spinning one that is.

Well MS makes me sick as a dog but I did it once last trip and I will certainly go again this trip  Great attraction
1980, 2000, 2005 and 2008 all had plenty of magic. Hoping for a bit more in 2010.

I hear ya. I enjoy riding the green side of MS. I get motion sickness all the time, and it is just awful. I'm glad they added the easy version because I wasn't able to go on it before that.

The teacups is the only ride I have never ridden at Disney.

I don't find it repeat-worthy.

Yes, I loved this ride. I thought it was the best ride at Epcot. It is definitely the best of the new rides. I would have rode it more, but my girlfriend had trouble waking me up after Test track.Image

Can you imagine .. woohoo!

I agree it would be incredible if it was 3D. I like the ride. The short lines may be due to the idea that the ride can kill, 'cause of the two deaths that disney had on the ride, which where later claimed to be caused by unknown birth defects that supposedly was found after their deaths. I believe this is to be true. That is why you can know go on the spin or the no spin section of the ride. The rumored 2 g's that has is suppose to be a standard for many rides, is found here on this ride, its the time that the body is held at G's that is claimed to be longer than even some roller coasters. I'm not sure if its true. I believe the ride is safe and lots of fun. Somewhere I think it says do not take your eyes off the screen or you risk motion sickness, I found that to be true, keep looking forward, and you should have a pretty calm and fun ride, if you like these kind of rides.

As I understand it 2G isn't a massive G force for attractions of this type, 4g isn't uncommon. The difference between MS pulling 2g and roller coasters pulling 4g is that a roller coaster can only sustain this force for a split second where MS sustains forces over several seconds. So it's true that this is a lower G figure but over a much longer period of time.

I have no problems with the ride, but I can see why some people would get a little freaked out.

We went on MS when it first opened and you didn't have an option of "full throttle" or "half". We didn't care for it, my eyes kept wanting to cross during blast off and it kinda makes you worry if there are vomit bags on an attraction!!! We survived, but we don't make it a point of doing that one when we're there!

Yep the attraction doesn't sustain high Gs compared to other "Thrill" rides. But it is very long, as rooders said, it's 2Gs for longer than any other ride.

As for the deaths, at least the little boy, his defect (at least the way the corner described it) was such that he could have dropped over dead at just about any time. It's the same type of heart defect that often shows up when you hear about a local high school kid dropping over dead in football/soccer/baseball/track practice. My understanding is it's pretty easy to fix, and pretty hard to find (unless you are looking for it.)

The other one was a woman with Untreated Hypertension causing bleeding in the brain. Excuse me but as I recall the signs saying a person with that specific set of conditions shouldn't ride.

I enjoy the ride - like how it's such a different ride! I enjoy it more because I never have to wait in the lines. My dad works for Hewlett-Packard, who sponsors the ride, so we go into this lounge area where there's like free candy and Cokes, as well as a few computers with internet access and a place to print out your pictures. At the lounge exit is basically the front of the fastpass line, so that's how we get to the front of the line.

Makes me sick if put on the spinning version. Can't do spinning. Not the G's as coasters don't bother me.

My husband and I loved it. We were very skeptical before riding, but we were very impressed coming off the ride the first time. We will ride it every time we are there.
