You live 20 minutes away, but that is not close enough.

I'm envious. I would love to be only 20 minutes away. How is the traffic? Is it hard to get around town or even to the parks when it's more toward peak season?

I-4 is pretty good most of the day, but it only gets backed up when a park closes. I live south of Disney, so the traffic is not that bad coming from this way.

It is pretty nice, though. The other day, we got up early and went to eat breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Anytime we want Dole Whip, we just take a ride to the Polynesian.

I can hear the fireworks from my house, but I can not see them. It would be great if I could see them.

Thanks for the info! I get frustrated when we hear the fireworks around us and can't see them. I can only imagine if it happened every evening  I sure hope to live there sooner rather than later...

Hmm really from just going there every year I have noticed I-4 gets pretty heavy during rush hour. Definitely not nearly as bad as some NY/NJ or LA traffic, but it is traffic.

I agree that south of Disney usually doesn't seem that bad, but during rush hour I agree with Len90 I-4 can get pretty heavy between Disney and north of Orlando...

You know you (and your friends and/or family) are a WDW nut when...

You can convince them to run a Half Marathon because they'll be able to make a WDW trip out of it.

(wish I could do it this year...maybe the Wine & Dine Half next November ;) )

When you see they brought back the Florida Orange Bird to Adventureland and you're really excited about it even though you never grew up with the original Florida Orange Bird and you want a Florida Orange Bird t-shirt from your March 2013 trip.

When you're so excited about some Disney brought back, you decide to post about it on Subsonic and in turn create a long run-on sentence...

When you are passing a creepy looking house and your first thought is "Welcome foolish mortals to the Haunted Mansion"

Having lived in Orlando I know the traffic patterns of I-4 pretty well. From about 4 pm until about 7 pm its wall to wall from about OBT south of downtown, through downtown, and up to about where I-4 and 436 meet in Lake Mary. That includes downtown, Winter Park, and the northern part of Orlando.
