I thought of this one today for this forum. It made me laugh out loud. When my husband & I were discussing having children 10 years ago, I said 2 kids is enough. He wanted 3.

I said, "No, that can't happen. Everyone needs a partner."

He said, "Partner for what?"

I said, "Duh? Disney World! You can't have 1 person waiting for a 2 person ride, they will cry!"

10 years later and my husband won the argument....we have 3 kids.

My dad owns a DVC time share. He supplies the resort & we buy his food & other items to compensate him. My mom passed away 15 years ago. My dad is not remarried & no girlfriend. He goes to DW with us almost every trip. The kids love having papa come with. It's also nice to have 3 adults instead of 2 to help when the baby is sleeping, needs changing, etc. We always have a blast!

Everyone has a partner! :mickey:

Hmmm, your husband must have been seeing into the future  Sorry your Mom isn't around to be able to share the joy, but that's great that your Dad enjoys coming along and helping with the kids. They will cherish these memories when they get older :D

Monakie78 I have enjoyed your posts on this thread! It seems like my husband and I joked about this with our later children that an even number does make it better for ride purposes. Not that it was a deciding factor but it sure was an added benefit  :D

My husband used to think I was nuts for wanting an even number of kids. It is quite silly, but when you love Disney....well, you know what I talking about. As a child, he only went to Disney World once or twice. Since we've been together he's gone 8 more times, #9 fast approaching. I'm brainwashing him a trip at a time! He will not say that he loves Disney World, but he'll tell you he really likes it.

Today, I consider myself the luckiest....

wait, wrong speech. But not really. My first husband would not have been much of a Disney fan. We did take the girls once when they were little, but I think he did it because they were little, and as they got older he would have rather done more nature-y things. (Maybe that's why we're not together. Nah.) My hubby now is a MAJOR Disney freak. More so than I am. Yes, it's possible! :) Anyway, I think I am very lucky because if I want to plan a Disney vacation, there isn't any convincing necessary. :D In fact, when I asked him how we'll spend our fifth anniversary, without hesitation he said "Disneyland Paris. And, yeah, other stuff in France, too."

I wonder why so many things are geared for families of 4. How many families have just 2 children? I think the number would be pretty low. A table of 5 or more is considered a "large party" and usually has a longer wait for dinner. Pre-packaged items like hot dogs, hamburger patties, etc. come in multiples of 4. Family sized foods make 4 servings... anyway you get the point.

I think it's awesome that you have a family of 5+1. My mom and stepdad buy us Disney vacations, and it's a fabulous way to spend our inheritance - with them, creating memories for my kids. We go, en masse through WDW and have a great time.

You know I couldn't agree with you more. This is sad, but true story. When my mom knew she was dying, all she wanted to do was go back to Disney World one last time. I laid there with her & we talked about our favorite rides, characters, shows, resorts, restaurants in Disney-love Tonga toast!, etc. My mom was only 48 when she died. She didn't make it back down to Disney World. But she was so happy traveling back in her mind to a day in Disney. Enjoy your Disneyland Paris trip, be a Disney nut, life is just too short to not make it the happiest of times..... :mickey:

Definitely some interesting advice in this topic. We go as a family of four and it just always works perfectly with attractions. I know now that I need to find me a wife who is a Disney fanatic and have an even number of kids!

When you decide to go out at night and your idea of dressing up involves wearing a knit shirt you bought at Disney World with the little Mickey mouse on it.

When I went down last night to take pictures of the latest phase of bridge construction on our road and smelled the aftermath of them burning the old wooden bridge remains yesterday. The first thought that popped into my head was that it smelled just like Rome burning!

When you are slightly bummed because you can't see the neighboring town's fireworks over the trees, but then think, ehhh, one day I'll be able to see them every night if I want to because I'll be living near WDW :D

My husband said no about Disney characters for our wireless head phones in our car. We have 2 sets & need 2 more. He said it would only cause fights with the kids, so the next ones we order have to be plain.

I still need to search more on the watch I want. I need a new running watch, with at least a digital compass & pedometer. So far-no Mickey. :(

have you looked at the new ipod nano's the one with the 2x2 touchscreen? belkin makes a watchband for it, and it has 18 watch faces already loaded (four of which are MM, Minnie, Kermit and Animal). it has a pedometer, and is able to interface with nike+ relay that goes in the shoe. also included is an fm receiver, oh, and yeah, you can load either 8 or 16 GB of songs to it...

Funny the iPod nano was mentioned. Mark bought me a 16gb one for my Disney music and so I could also wear it as a Mickey watch! There are plenty of band options available however most will have the watch oriented a different way than a conventional watch.

You know, I didn't think to look at those. I did notice one of my piano families' Dad was wearing one of those this week, but he was across the room so I couldn't see what watch face he had selected at the time. I'm sure it was just a plain clock face though...I sort of like my sports watches though so I'm not sure I would feel very comfortable wearing an ipod nano. I know it would have the music and everything, but it just seems like it would be too expensive to put it through what it might encounter in my day  I have seen the different digital faces though ~ the Muppets are actually cuter than the Mickey and Minnie ones in my opinion :D

That is great.. I actually did that for a friend of mine.. She lives/goes to school in Scotland.. so I went and got a bunch of maps for her.. but I got them in Japanese (knowing that she knows a little Japanese but she would have to translate it for herself)
