Haven't seen the effect but I would imagine the castle wasn't knowing for flying through the sky. :D

I meant with perspective. :P :P :P  8-) They built it quite small on top of a "hill" so it looks like it's waaayyyy off in the distance. You had mentioned something about perspective for the floating island so I wondered if that's what you were referencing.

And FWIW you should get to WDW sometime soon. New Fantasyland is done really well.

Ah, I thought there was some special effect they had added to it. I wouldn't bother going for a while since I have DLR down the street from the office and they are still in the middle of massive projects. The attractions in the new area are also mostly irrelevant to me since the only one that looks interesting isn't open yet. That and they cloned the awful mermaid ride.

The mermaid ride isn't awful...it's just ... girlie. And maybe juvenile.

Oh it's not awful for the franchise it is awful because of the lazy and half-assed design and non-existent storytelling. It would have been great ride 40 years ago, but now it is just dated and poorly done.

We've talked a lot about rumors vs. facts... But if this is true, the Avater theater ride should be pretty awesome, unless the queue doesn't move fast enough. Read:

That will probably have the exact same issue that Soarin' has at WDW (for some reason it isn't as jammed at DCA), they can have 8 theaters worth of people past the queue in either the pre-show or show sections, but it still has hard stops for the queue since they have to wait for a group to clear. Probably not as bad as Soarin' though.

The new ride is going to be using the Vekoma System. It is pretty much a 3-D Soarin' with more motion control.

I am so on the fence for this…….One moment I think it could be cool…but I think I need to wait and reserve judgement until I see some more updates.

I really should try to watch the movie Avatar sometime soon. I don't even really have an opinion having never seen the movie

The special effects and scenery are breath taking. If they can get those aspects to translate they may make some buzz…...

I'm wondering if they are sort of trying to keep up with Harry Potterland at Universal with this latest addition?
