We began running as a way to lose some weight and so far we have lost 90lbs. combined. I am using the half marathon as a way to get my wife to agree to another WDW trip
Just kidding--I am very serious about completing this thing.
See all you 2012'ers there!
Congrats on the weight loss bud! I'm also using the 1/2 as motivation to lose weight this year. I figure if I pay for it, then that is all the motivation I need! Plus, like you said, it gets the wife on another trip to WDW. I'll have to meet up with you and run with you for about 30 seconds until you leave me in the dust!

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. I bet by the time the marathon rolls around, he'll be ready to go. Any chance you could convince him to train for the marathon with y'all? That might make it more fun for him to go...
Interesting idea...but if isn't a video game about running, it will be about a week before he gives up on it---too much like work
But I will talk to him about it.

Every time I log on here, I think you and I are more and more alike! (Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing

)
You've got plenty of time to get ready for it--we'll be running it together!!

Yes Jacca you can walk them but you have to keep to under 16mins a mile not to be swept, otherwise they collect you up and no finish for you

3.2 miles!! Thanks NaCler!!
Baloo and I walk about 3 miles in 50 minutes. We would only have to cut that down by a few minutes. When we walk it's usually at a relaxed pace. I think we could do it in under 40 minutes with a little training and effort!

Thanks for the discount information. I'll be sure to break out the Disney Visa Rewards card and register before 4/24. It will get me a discount and add a little bit to my rewards point total.
Thanks again!

Well, I have some news: the Boilers have signed up for the 5k and the 1/2 in January of 2012! I'm sure they won't mind my spilling the beans, since they're not in a position to spend time on the boards right now. Who plans to join them? I know we'd like to, but we're not sure if we can go in January. We'll have to wait and see.

Hmmmmmm, am I sensing possibly another Mayhem Marauder's meet-up in conjunction with the marathon???

It would be sweet!
But like I said, it's very iffy for us right now. Of course, if you and some others of the gang could manage it, I wouldn't begrudge you the pleasure.
I would be very jealous, though.

That would be fun, but I wonder how darn crowded it would be on that weekend?!
