Has anyone been to wdw recently?
I went today and there are signs up on the construction walls like a preview of what's to come. There's info about the Ariel ride, Be Our Guest restaurant & the Enchanted castle from Beauty & the Beast.
Also saw that the tree from Piglets Playful Spot has been moved just to the left of the Pooh ride entrance.

Nope. But they are creating Beast's castle for the Beauty and The Beast area.Jacca5660 wrote:Is Disney changing the Castle??

The train is nowhere near where the construction is going to take place. What you can see is most likely a staging area for building materials and construction vehicles.kcarts wrote:There's video on youtube of the construction from the train. You can't see much, just a lot of equipment and some clearing of brush.

The train route butts right up against Mickey's Toontown Fair...isn't that where they're going to do construction?MadEye wrote: The train is nowhere near where the construction is going to take place. What you can see is most likely a staging area for building materials and construction vehicles.
I think I read somewhere that the train will not be operating for some stages of the construction b/c of this.
I'm talking about right at this very second. All the work being done is backstage where no guests can see it, either from the current Fantasyland or the Trains. The demolition/construction for Mickey's Toontown Fair is several months down the line. I've even heard rumblings that Pixie Hollow might not happen at all.disneylizzy wrote:The train route butts right up against Mickey's Toontown Fair...isn't that where they're going to do construction?

So, like I said, you can't see anything from the trains.

Really? No Pixie Hollow? I know Disney has long-term plans to keep pumping out those Pixie Hollow/Tinkerbell DVD's - or is all the Pixie Hollow merchandising & marketing not going over as well as Disney had expected? If so, maybe they're planning a switch-out while they're still is the design phase and havent' started construction?
Nope. TDO (Team Disney Orlando) just doesn't want to spend the money needed for some things their higher ups want to do at WDW.mindflipper wrote:Really? No Pixie Hollow? Budget cuts. Thanks TDO!!!

Here's a video of the wall. Gives you an idea of what is walled off.

This is from the same guy who took the video from the train that Mad Eye says you can't see anything from.

Beautiful artwork ~ does anyone know if the Little Mermaid is simply going to be moved from DHS to Fantasyland or are they planning something entirely new?kcarts wrote:Here's a video of the wall. Gives you an idea of what is walled off.

They have "re-routed" the train before...when they were building Splash Mountain. Back then the train ran back and forth between Main Street Station to Mickey's Star Land (Toontown Fair). It ran forwards and then in reverse. This was because of how close Splash Mountain was to the Frontierland Station. Check out the WEDway Radio podcast that talks about it: http://wedwayradio.squarespace.com/show ... -year.html
