I would have to put Sunshine Seasons as one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the sandwich and german potato salad there this past trip. Plus you can get the original, not-outsourced, yummy rice krispie brick here

DW and I enjoyed the exact same thing you did Amy! We couldn't believe how fresh and amazing it all tasted...and I was already a HUGE fan of Sunshine Seasons and the food there. DW and I will make it a point to go there every single trip because for the money it is probably the best food on property.Amy wrote:I think so too ~ everything just tastes super freshboilerbabe wrote:I have to say, this is one of our favs. too Amy! don't know if this is the proper place for this, but it doesn't seem deserving of it's own blog, so i'll put it here. take a look at this new offering at prime time cafe: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/02/2 ... time-cafe/ although i'm not a meat eater, this is an attractive plate, and i can see the appeal to those of you who do eat meat, and enjoy prime time cafe as perhaps your "favorite" (in hollywood studios anyway). thought this may get some of you excited. sure makes me start jonesin' for uncle charlie's tuna casserole... lookin' forward to gettin' back to this place!

That does sound like it has a lot of people's "favorites" on one plate. F1gment and I should probably try out the 50's prime time cafe one of these trips.nicklesm17 wrote:don't know if this is the proper place for this, but it doesn't seem deserving of it's own blog, so i'll put it here. take a look at this new offering at prime time cafe: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/02/2 ... time-cafe/ although i'm not a meat eater, this is an attractive plate, and i can see the appeal to those of you who do eat meat, and enjoy prime time cafe as perhaps your "favorite" (in hollywood studios anyway). thought this may get some of you excited. sure makes me start jonesin' for uncle charlie's tuna casserole... lookin' forward to gettin' back to this place!

Re: favorite restaurant in the "World"
amy, these are like the 3 "signature" dishes of this place that i've never heard anyone say less than great things about. so this will be a fantastic sample opportunity for you if you've never been there before. on that note, i may offer a few points of advice:Amy wrote:That does sound like it has a lot of people's "favorites" on one plate. 1st, it is possible to get a walk up here, but i strongly suggest reserving if you can.
2nd, obnoxious servers are part of the shtick here, but so is consistently slooow service. so plan on losing most of the usable portion of the night if you dine here (don't have anywhere you need to be).
3rd, not sure about the subsonic opinion on this, but every other dis-site i've been on consistently puts this place as #1 for their site users "best" milk shake choice at wdw. it is good, the best ever? well i tend to agree that it's the best at wdw, and they usually leave the metal tin that they make it in at your table, so there's more than enough to share one w/ a friend.
if you had to, i suppose you could do lunch here, i believe the fare is the same. there's just something about this place at night that makes it my preferred time to be here. lunch's vibe wasn't the same. dinner feels like i'm a kid back at my granparents house, how do you put a price on that?

Thanks for the tips nicklesm17. I've heard that the 50's ptc is a good place for an entertaining meal but I don't know that I have ever heard about it having good milkshakes. I'm not much of a meat eater myself or even a homestyle cooking fan, but I do enjoy a yummy milkshake

yes, these food choices could scare some people away. there is some kind of stigma about the stereotypes envisioned when these "old" meals are mentioned. believe me, this is not the case here. however, if meat is an issue, you may more strongly think about the tuna casserole. i doubt many people dreaded the ever popular tuna casserole of the early eighties as much as i, yet here, somehow they manage to make it delicious. this seems to be the case w/ all these old food staples served here. i don't know how they do it. you must go in w/out any pre-conceptions, i know that's hard to do w/ these kind of american iconics, but you must. taste it like it's the 1st time you've ever heard of the meal, you won't believe it, and i guarantee you'll make this place a regular stop on future trips.Amy wrote:Thanks for the tips nicklesm17. I appreciate your impassioned plea, but I will probably end up having to take your word for how good the tuna casserole is. Luckily (at least for us kids) my Mom is allergic to seafood so we were never subjected to the dreaded tuna noodle casserole. Now I like a good tuna salad, but the thought of tuna warm with noodles ~ blech!nicklesm17 wrote:yes, these food choices could scare some people away. there is some kind of stigma about the stereotypes envisioned when these "old" meals are mentioned. believe me, this is not the case here. however, if meat is an issue, you may more strongly think about the tuna casserole. i doubt many people dreaded the ever popular tuna casserole of the early eighties as much as i, yet here, somehow they manage to make it delicious. this seems to be the case w/ all these old food staples served here. i don't know how they do it. you must go in w/out any pre-conceptions, i know that's hard to do w/ these kind of american iconics, but you must. taste it like it's the 1st time you've ever heard of the meal, you won't believe it, and i guarantee you'll make this place a regular stop on future trips.Amy wrote:Thanks for the tips nicklesm17.
