A random WDW thought: Would a Disney World subway system be possible? Good Idea? Bad Idea? Either that or they should extend the Monorail system over to the Animal Kingdom. It's so isolated over there.

I think the water table is waaayyyyy too high for a subway anywhere in Florida.TikiTikiRoom wrote:A random WDW thought: Would a Disney World subway system be possible? Good Idea? Bad Idea? Either that or they should extend the Monorail system over to the Animal Kingdom. It's so isolated over there.
I agree. There should be additional transportation options to AK, like the boats to Epcot. Is there a boat to HS? I can't remember. Good thing I'm going back this year.

cy1229, there is a boat ride to Hollywood Studios. There's a boat launch from the International Gateway in Epcot to the Boardwalk Resort, Yacht & Beach Club Resort, Swan & Dolphin Resort and ending at Hollywood Studios. There is also a walking path, as well.cy1229 wrote:I think the water table is waaayyyyy too high for a subway anywhere in Florida.TikiTikiRoom wrote:A random WDW thought: Would a Disney World subway system be possible? Yes, there is a boat that goes from the International Gateway to the Hollywood Studios. It takes FOR-E-VER though...because it does make all those stops. If you are looking for a slow trip to get there...so you can relax...it may be worth it for you.secondstar wrote:cy1229, there is a boat ride to Hollywood Studios. I can't imagine that you could walk around the boardwalk and then over to DHS any faster than the boat (unless you're practicing for next year's marathon)...

Actually, you know what would be absolutely awesome? A huge walking path that encircles and connects every park together. Not only would it be great exercise, but Disney could probably add some cool stuff to the walkway to make it even more enjoyable!

That's a big ol' depends from my standpoint...
I love the fact that Disney provides transportation, but there are a few things that could be fixed. Like mindflipper, I'll save it for my trip report....

That is sort of what I was thinking. That would be a loooooong walkmindflipper wrote:I can't imagine that you could walk around the boardwalk and then over to DHS any faster than the boat (unless you're practicing for next year's marathon)...

That would be neat, but not very practical. I can't imagine a lot of people would utilize the pathways since that would add a lot of miles and tons of time into getting from one place to another. It would be fun if you lived close and wanted a nice walk thoughTikiTikiRoom wrote:Actually, you know what would be absolutely awesome? Oh my! The plot thickens...insert ominous music hereMmeLeota wrote:That's a big ol' depends from my standpoint...

I think that would be a great idea but they would have to add a walking esculaters. I dont know that correct name but in instead of the normal esculaters with stairs it doesnt have any. At BWI Airport has them and you walk alot faster. Its always great to get fun exercise inTikiTikiRoom wrote:Actually, you know what would be absolutely awesome? I think those are just called moving walkways. If they installed them then you wouldn't have to walk, you could just stand and watch the scenery go by!cinderella75 wrote:I think that would be a great idea but they would have to add a walking esculaters.
