I'm guessing the Kona coffee at the Kona Cafe might swing your vote toward there from the Crystal Palace

It's possible... who knows? I will say this, though: the coffee at C.P. is pretty darned good too, even if it's not Kona!Amy wrote:I'm guessing the Kona coffee at the Kona Cafe might swing your vote toward there from the Crystal Palace

Re: favorite restaurant in the "World"
Well, it will be interesting to see. I'm not much of a "dessert-food" person, so the Tonga Toast will be an interesting experience for me. I'm sure I'll like it, but I'm more of a "meat and taters" breakfast kinda guy. That's why I like the C.P... I can get all the scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, and cheesy-taters I want. I do usually get a waffle too, with loads of real butter and maple syrup, so it won't be that big a stretch for me to jump to some Tonga Toast. I'm really looking forward to it!NaCler wrote:M-Dude - Tonga Toast and Kona coffee??? I don't know, it may be your new favorite....

Re: favorite restaurant in the "World"
The free dining we have this time around will greatly expand my "been there" list, so I will be able to formulate a well-educated opinion at that point. But I love reading these lists to help me pick out where to go.

WWDRH - Do you already have ADR's setup? What are some new places you are trying this time? What old places made the list?

I have them all setup, unless this deal pans out that I mentioned in the Christmas thread...then I will need to make one more.NaCler wrote:WWDRH - Do you already have ADR's setup? What are some new places you are trying this time? What old places made the list?
Repeats are the Rose and Crown for Illuminations and the Biergarten--a family tradition

New ones will be:
Cape May Cafe
The Wave
Boatwrights (for our "off day" at POR)
Crystal Palace for breakfast on Christmas Morning (a surprise that none of them know about)
and Mama Melrose's
I got the free dining so late that some of my 'top choices' were already unavailable...but that's a long story that I will save for the trip report

WWDRH: may I ask, are you going to Boatwright's for breakfast? I've never eaten any other meals there, but I can say that the breakfasts are very good! We've breakfasted there numerous times and always enjoyed it.

Don't forget you might be able to check back and see if any openings have opened up at your top choice restaurants. Doesn't hurt to check...wewantsdaredhead wrote:I have them all setup, unless this deal pans out that I mentioned in the Christmas thread...then I will need to make one more.NaCler wrote:WWDRH - Do you already have ADR's setup? That's a nice lineup, bud. I really like the CP for Christmas morning! I wonder if Pooh and the Gang do anything special on Christmas day???wewantsdaredhead wrote:I have them all setup, unless this deal pans out that I mentioned in the Christmas thread...then I will need to make one more.NaCler wrote:WWDRH - Do you already have ADR's setup? I am sad to say I have never done the Biergarten... No one else in my family likes German food... or beer... oh well...

The German food is ok, it is the sauerkraut smell that keeps the sane folk out! I would have to drink copious amounts of beer in order to not notice the sauerkraut smellNaCler wrote:...I am sad to say I have never done the Biergarten... Sorry about that--we are eating dinner there, not Breakfast. I didn't even know they had breakfast there. We're not big on breakfast, to be honest. We like a bowl of Cheerios and off the parks!
If I hit it up, I will be sure to let you know--thanks for letting me know.

You need to "sneak out" one time and try it--it's very good. It's a very nice spread and if you don't like one thing, you slide over to the next!Amy wrote:The German food is ok, it is the sauerkraut smell that keeps the sane folk out! Amy: LOL-I have never noticed an abundance of Sauerkraut smell in there, but then again--I like `kraut and I will enjoy more than my share of it that day!!

Re: favorite restaurant in the "World"
It has been a while since we were there...so I will have to sniff gently as I go by the pavilion this December. I just seem to remember great waves of 'kraut smelliness rolling out the front of the Biergarten the last time we were there and I walked by. I'm very sensitive to smells and although I am part German, sauerkraut is not on my list of approved foodswewantsdaredhead wrote:...Amy: LOL-I have never noticed an abundance of Sauerkraut smell in there, but then again--I like `kraut and I will enjoy more than my share of it that day!!

My Mom is like you, she really likes sauerkraut and would happily eat in there. Maybe she can go with NaCler this December, and I can take his Mom somewhere my Mom won't go!
