Quick update: Walls are now up at the Tiki Room! They block the whole preshow area! I saw this when I was working the other day so it looks like work will be beginning shortly (I hope). No update on when it will be reopened but the sooner the better. with the hot summer heat comig, Aladdin with No Tiki (AC!!!) is gonna be miserable.

I bet they will make some announcement closer to the opening date. I wonder if they will recycle some of the "Shag" merchandise for ETR from DLR to WDW for it?

I'm telling you guys, they did not order a new Iago animatronic to replace the one that was destroyed in the fire, and without Iago, there is no Under New Management show. We're getting something else. What, I don't know. I've heard that we're getting the old show sans the Offenbach number (in other words, the Disneyland show) and I've heard that we're getting a new show that incorporates some songs from the original, plus some randomized elements. Which rumor is true? I don't know. But mark my words, the Under New Management show is absolutely not coming back.

It would almost have to be the former since that part of the show only takes less than a minute...

Well, the show in California doesn't have the Offenbach number. If they simply bring back the "original" show, it will actually be the California version, so no Offenbach. I imagine the number was removed to shorten the show, both to cater to modern attention spans and to increase the attraction's daily capacity like Mindflipper said.

At any rate, I'm seriously considering spending some money we don't have and making a detour to WDW after our St. Pete trip in October to see the "new" Tiki Room, whatever form it ends up taking.
