A continental breakfast will be is available before the race from 3:00 a.m. – 5:30 a.m. The breakfast includes bagels with peanut butter, butter and jellies, whole oranges, and bananas. Hot beverages (coffee, tea, cocoa) are provided as are PowerAde and Dasani water. Yum Yum. At 3am blea :(
You also get a private bag drop (or a slightly more private bag drop) and a stretching area. In case you are to small and need stretching :)
It also gives you somewhere to pass out, in relative comfort, after the race.
Cost to you Half Marathon $85, Marathon $105 or the Goofy $175.
Check it out

Seems a bit pricey for the amenities...I bet they get a lot of takers though!

Drive there in your car. Park in Epcot car park. Take a thermos flask full of coffee and a couple of bagels.
Comfy seats in the warm/dry, and a place to recover after the race. Total price. FREE ;)

Now, how many park tickets can I get for $185? :goofy_bounce:

Does the race include a day in a park or are park tickets completely separate?

As you run through the parks you don't need a ticket. If you go back later in the day you do need a ticket.
All finishers of the Marathon get free entry into a park of there choice on Monday. This is new for this year.

There is a possibility of a DOUBLE fail here. Take over 7 hours and you don't get an official finishing time (you still get the medal though) then, because you don't have a registered official finishing time you don't get the free ticket on Monday.

If you do get a ticket, it isn't transferable to anybody else (although how they are going to stop you passing it to someone else isn't very clear) and the ticket isn't a park hopper, so choose your park carefully.

Wow ~ lots of rules. That is nice that they give a free ticket though, especially since the race costs quite a bit. I assume they put your name on the ticket and that is what prevents you from passing it along.

Yep. I'm all in for the Goofy challenge 2011 :goofy_bounce:

I think the Race Retreat is a gamble as well. It is very $$ expensive $$ for a seat (perhaps) in a tent. Double expensive if you are a Goofy runner. If you are coming by car then you could just sit in that. I have not payed out for the RR yet, I'm gonna keep an eye on the weather forecast and decide closer to the event what I'm going to do. You can buy a whole bunch of nice warm clothing for the same $$ as the entry price to the RR.
I think I will wait until the race gets a little closer to decided whether or not to pay $85.00 for the "race retreat". If I spend that kind of money and the weather turns out to be 55 degrees and clear I would kick myself the whole weekend. My wife and I could have a real nice lunch later that day for $85.00.

I just read that all of the "race retreat" packages are sold out. I guess that answers my question as to whether I should or should not spend the money. As of today the extended forecast is still looking good for race weekend.

Good luck to all you runners! The weather can't be any worse than it was last year for the race weekend. Looking real nice right now!

Thanks everyone for posting for this year's Marathon Weekend.

Training is complete (after our final 8 miles this evening).

Here is my wife and I's Bib #s for the Half:

Mine - 35029
Her's - 35030

We're planning on getting up around 4am to eat and head over. We didn't purchase the breakfast package and just plan on eating bagels and protein bars upon arrival. Having never run a formal race in the past, I believe we'll be in one of the last waves/corals. While we're confident we won't get swept :D , we're planning on posting a decent time while having a fantastic experience. We'll be in Disney Thursday - Monday for those that would consider meeting. I'll be checking this throughout the week.

Thanks again and have a fantastic race!
