Thanks MmeLeota, but it isn't my picture, just one I found with a bit of google-ing...I was curious whether she was a princess in the sea or on land for the parade too...I don't think that parade was running yet when I was there in 2003.MmeLeota wrote:That's a pretty cool looking float from Fantillusion Amy!
No trouble Len...it's hard to keep all these parades straight after awhile.

Everest from above resembles a massive hidden Mickey....
Re: Quirky Secrets of WDW
I know it's late to this discussion but if memory serves, Ariel appears temporarily with Eric in Adventurland in her Wedding dress. I think I've seen her in the same dress in Mickey's Toontown Fair as well but I hadn't been there since early 07.boilerbabe wrote:Len90 wrote:To follow up the Ariel wave, she did not wave like that during the Celebrate a Dream Come true parade. During MSEP she walks and has a dance routine that prevents her from waving.
Ariel walks?!?!?! I'm confused, she's a mermaid, how does she walk?! Or are they having her like at the end of the movie where she basically turns human?

This was a picture in the latest issue of MiceChat about the 55th anniversary ceremony in DL. Although this is a picture that shows the backsides of princesses, I would be willing to bet the one with the radiant red tresses is Ariel...with legs and, what do you call 'em, oh yeah...feet

Re: Quirky Secrets of WDW
I think she is the one just to the right of Buzz Lightyear in the powder blue dress.

You got it Len, Buzz is in the center (mostly) of the photo, then there is the lamppost, then Ariel to the right of the lamppost...Here she is, circled...sorry, I forgot I wasn't talking to Mousekedude or Jacca who can sniff out a princess 3 miles away in a blowing snowstorm, at night, in the dead of summer, while drinking rum, I mean Dole Whips, well...ok, I mean rum!Len90 wrote:I think she is the one just to the right of Buzz Lightyear in the powder blue dress.

Aha! So Ariel has been spotted with legs in DL!
I was so used to seeing her in her meet & greet grotto area that is no longer there...that I know of. I'm pretty sure the grotto was taken out for Pixie Hollow.

Re: Quirky Secrets of WDW
I don't know. From the back, that looks like Giselle from Enchanted. Not to mention her hair looks more like Giselle than Arial.Amy wrote:You got it Len, Buzz is in the center (mostly) of the photo, then there is the lamppost, then Ariel to the right of the lamppost...Here she is, circled...sorry, I forgot I wasn't talking to Mousekedude or Jacca who can sniff out a princess 3 miles away in a blowing snowstorm, at night, in the dead of summer, while drinking rum, I mean Dole Whips, well...ok, I mean rum!Len90 wrote:I think she is the one just to the right of Buzz Lightyear in the powder blue dress.![]()

I'm pretty sure it is Ariel, her dress and hair match this photo I found from A Christmas Fantasy Parade from 2009

Aha. I've only ever seen her in a white dress. That would explain my confusion...Amy wrote:I'm pretty sure it is Ariel, her dress and hair match this photo I found from A Christmas Fantasy Parade from 2009

It makes sense - Ariel is too popular to be relegated only to sitting positions. After all, flippin' your fins you don't get very far.

And as we can see in the above picture, legs are required for jumpin', dancin'!horizons1 wrote:It makes sense - Ariel is too popular to be relegated only to sitting positions. After all, flippin' your fins you don't get very far.

Re: Quirky Secrets of WDW
Here's Ariel as a Princess at the Princess Meet and Greet over at toontown. She has been making surprise appearances here ever since her grotto was removed to make way for the construction.
