So it seems like it will be slowed down then. Not a huge fan of slowing it down since it really doesn't go that fast to begin with and I didn't find the g-forces to be that bad.

Yeah the ride reaches a max of 27mph. It feels a lot faster because of the darkness.

The speed was never a problem, it was the sharp jostling from side to side that always made me feel like my kidneys had gotten tangled with my liver. Slowing it down is not going to change that, and is going to make it less thrilling.

Figures! That' s just when I'm there! I hate when they close some of my favorites while it's my turn to be "home". But as long as COP and Small World are open, I'll be happy.

I'm always a bit afraid to see if CoP is running at all. I really hope they don't decide to close that one!

It did have a refurbishment in May. Probably some paint work

Since we have no verification on what impact the brakes will have on the ride is it possible that you will only have a placebo effect thinking the ride has been slowed in parts unaffected and go in assuming the changes will be dramatic? :D

That is good news ~ it really did look like it was in need of some TLC the last time we were there.

Quite possibly. It will be interesting to have reports from people who are quite familiar with the ride and can say whether they think the ride has changed much, and also from the more casual guest.

That would be nice if we could experience the Holiday themed rides at WDW for a change. I never had the chance to go visit DLR yet.

I'm pretty sure the Country Bear Jamboree was decked out for the holidays the last time we were there in December '11

The resort is so beautiful at that time of year. Plus the weather is generally nice, warm in the day, but not hot, and cool in the early morning and evening! The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is one of our absolute favorites. So pretty!
