I agree, especially on 3. When they added R&RC I thought how out of place it was, and I love roller coastersmkfan1992 wrote:Hey everyone,
Today I came across an article on the Dis Boards with a rumor that Cars Land could be coming to Hollywood Studios to replace Lights, Motors, Action..
Although I do agree that Lights, Motors, Action needs to go, I don't agree that Cars Land is the answer..
1. This park needs something original. People aren't going to bother coming here to Carsland if they can go to the original in California.
2. The "Cars" films weren't even that spectacular.
3. The Park's theme is supposed to be "classic Hollywood glitz and glamour" and I feel as though the imaginears have completely lost sight of that.
What are your thoughts? Heres the article:

If you don't count that Twilight zone is a zombie franchise (and not in the good way) and that many people wonder who exactly that weird looking man is.

I agree that Lights, Cameras, Action can be replaced but a duplicate of Cars Land at DHS, no. I wish Disney would finish with all the Cars, Nemo, Toy Story attractions (as good as they are), and try something with a different Pixar film, like The Incredibles. That was a fun film, lots of attraction and area music/theming possibilities, and more importantly, a movie that was popular, yet hasn't been tapped in any Park. It would be especially timely as a sequel is being planned.

I just got back from a trip to California and rode radiator springs a few times. It was so much fun. While it was great, and I do see DHS needs some updates, I'm not sure cars land really fits.

especailly since it has 'problems' with wet-weather... even more so than a steel coaster. {as stated before, on this thread and others} RSR would most likely NOT come to Orlando in its current configuration. now if they reworked the ride into a couple of spare soundstages, CTX style, that might be a different story.

Pixar just needs to go make its own amusement park separately somewhere so that it will be easier. DHS needs some updates in which they remove more shows and get more rides before I consider returning to the park. I wasn't that impressed much when I had my first visit.

Re: CarsLand at Hollywood Studios?
I think part of it is that Pixar has strong franchises but it doesn't have enough stuff to make a full park.
That and it's way cheaper to build onto an existing park than to build a new one, that and the whole vacation duration threshold.

A Creature From The Black Lagoon Ride is in order, me thinks.

on the pixar themed park, there is plenty of room to place a 5th in reedy creek. that might ease some of the capacity problems i have seen in the other 4... 'pixar place' would be a great addition to WDW. a giant warehouse structure(s) linked by a central hub, lorded over by a giant Luxo jr... each 'soundstage' themed to the nines to match its signature attraction.
- Radiator springs [RSR}
Bugs land [ITTBAB]
Incredibles [kuka arm ride, following the family battling through the jungle and omnidroid]
Nemo[underseas adventure darkride/coaster<like 7dmt>]
WALL-E[coaster ride through trashed NY, and out to Axiom <both light and dark style, a mix of BTMRR and SM]
UP [soarin-style ride following the house]
and of course Toy Story lands ...

Space isn't the problem, it's that guests may not be as eager to have another park added on if it means having to stay longer since it's not just another day of admission, it's also getting another night, food, etc.

I agree with this. There's only so much one can do in a visit to WDW. People rarely can spend more than a week on any vacation, even if costs aren't taken into account. I love the ideas dstrawn9889, just not sure it is practical to do.Wizzard419 wrote:Space isn't the problem, it's that guests may not be as eager to have another park added on if it means having to stay longer since it's not just another day of admission, it's also getting another night, food, etc.
I wonder if Disney has thought much about adding a third location, somewhere in the "middle." However, our weather in the middle is kind of unpredictable and often crappy so maybe that's not as good an idea as I'd like it to be.

I think that would be a very cool idea. I know that it would make people grumble about having to visit another park, but US has a few parks. Granted, I have never been to US; my family has been loyal Disney vacationers the times we have been to Florida. I guess it would be like any family who only goes for a short time...pick and choose what attractions or parks best suit the family situation.dstrawn9889 wrote:on the pixar themed park, there is plenty of room to place a 5th in reedy creek. that might ease some of the capacity problems i have seen in the other 4... I think that's exactly why they don't build parks in the crappy (yeah, I said it
) flyover portions of the US. The weather in Florida may suck out loud, but they don't have to contend with the damage and costs that snow create. Most of the parks in places that get snow/ice also only run for part of the year (they have also learned the lesson about ice and it's damage in France), that and they would be cannibalizing their own profits.

Re: CarsLand at Hollywood Studios?
Seeing as how Disney keeps drawing from Pixar over the last ten years almost for its newest attractions, and how duplication seems to help costs at imagineering I could see Car's Land at the studios. I myself would prefer not to though. First, I'm a big fan of differences between Disneyland and WDW. They have different feels and I would like to have reason to visit both parks. I like that DL has Matterhorn, Subs, Alice, Toad, Indy, and different versions (often superior) of shared attractions. I like that WDW has Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, Spaceship Earth, Rock N' Roller coaster and many others. I very much enjoy the movie, TV, Hollywood vibe of the studios. Just because a attraction is inspired by a film does not give it a Hollywood or movie based feel. Toy Story Mania, great attraction but doesn't have that Hollywood feel. Tower of Terror, perfect attraction for the park. I would like to see something more in that spirit. The stunt shows were a great idea but they don't have long lives. I've only sat through Indy's stunt show twice in the last ten years. Lights motors action saw just once and have no desire for a repeat. So much space between Indy spectacular, Back Lot, Lights Motors...and under utilized Streets of America. I think it would be great to develop more around the Lucas properties of Indy and Star Wars. I don't want a copy of DL's Forbidden Eye attraction although awesome. I would like a new grand adventure attraction for both properties. I wouldn't even mind more Muppets if area is done with the care and detail that Muppetvision area has now. There might even be something familiar right under our nose that could be the perfect fit like Twilight Zone was. Imagineering's best and most beloved are usually original ideas like Pirates, Haunted mansion, and even Everest

Ah man, I almost forgot about that "Streets of America" section. A very underdeveloped area. The only memorable attractions I can think of in that area are Muppets 3D and the Honey I Shrunk The Kids play place. I'd say something DEFINITELY needs to be installed in that section.bravetaylor wrote:Seeing as how Disney keeps drawing from Pixar over the last ten years almost for its newest attractions, and how duplication seems to help costs at imagineering I could see Car's Land at the studios.
