Eh, potayto - potahto...chocolate flavored coffee or coffee flavored chocolate. She thought it was tasty and preferred to straight coffee late at night :D

??? It's not? I don't drink coffee so I don't know. I thought that is what she called it. Anyhow, it took me a couple nights to get the combination of hot chocolate to coffee ratio just right  picky, picky Momma ;)
At Dunkin Donuts they call that a dunkachino, (don't know if thats how they spell it). If you make it on your own it IS really hard to get it just right :) It's the only way I will drink coffee which is very seldom.

I would have to say the worst weather I have encountered at WDW was a very powerful thunderstorm on our first Night at Ft. Wilderness...IN A TENT

A tent can only be waterproofed so much. :(

This is a great topic for me!

My brother, fiance, and I went to Disney several years in a row while I was in law school. My borther ran in the marathons so we always went in January. We happened to go during the freak cold snap a couple of years ago. I believe in was the coldest it had been in Florida for several decades. We had brought warm clothes but I really did not want to wear my winter coat on all of the rides.

It was very cold every day (in the 40s if I remember correctly). I had to wear winter gloves every day, as well as many layers and hoodies. In hindsight, should have worn the winter coat for sure, but I just didn't want to for some reason! Anyway, the Pop Century ran out of hot chocolate in the food court several times because everyone was drinking it. On the morning of the half marathon, it snowed! The day we left, there were icicles hanging from the hotel.

In short, it truly was not a great time. It was Disney, so it was fun, but the weather really prohibited us from having a great time. Since it is usually hot in Florida, you realize quickly Disney World is not built for cold weather. Many eating areas are outside and have metal or stone seating, which is horrible in cold weather! I have to say, though, I will never forget that trip!!

One year there was a very severe thunderstorm when our group was at the MK.. so we ducked into the Hall of Presidents, and by the time it was over, the storm was gone.. It was great. :) Gotta love the south, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change.

Let's see.... July 2009. On my college program. One night it was coming a monster of a storm and we had the longest wait ever at the Turf Club- 3 hours. I hated quoting that because of how hateful all the people who waltzed up demanding a table would get.

Where is the Turf Club located? I don't understand how people that don't have reservations can be irritated  I would be disappointed if I wanted to get in somewhere, but I wouldn't be mad if I didn't have ressies. I would be a little unhappy if I had ressies and the restaurant was running significantly late though...but I wouldn't take it out on the CM...not their fault.

Saratoga Springs.

It was all the DVC people who came to stay there who bragged about being rich to the CMs (NO JOKE) who must think this: "Oh, we have a kitchen in our studio but we don't want to cook. We're above quick service food. Let's just walk up to the Turf Club and demand a table! They'll have to seat us over those smart people who made reservations if we whine enough!"

Hopefully they weren't in one of those situations where there were lots of empty tables (such as closing for the night or less staff, etc.) bragging about money won't help unless they try to bribe the person for a table.

True Story: We arrived at Disneyon March 3rd: It was sunny and warm-so much so that we went out in shorts and tank tops THEN after the sun went down the temp plunged about 25 degrees and we had to spend $200 in sweatshirts and warm clothes. A lesson well learned!

I wonder if that would even work given the apparent Disney policy of not accepting bribes...hmmm, tips...

They are technically tips, at nice places that you frequent (not really at a vacation resort) it is customary to tip the MD going in, even if you have a reservation, and coming out. That rule generally only applies to places where they have the same staff there for a million years. It might not really be an option for disney stuff either since they may be using a computerized system so there is no way to jump the line.

It happens, believe me... I haven't heard of it yet here at Victoria & Albert's but I DID see it at Saratoga. I had it happen to me personally and of course we are NEVER allowed to accept money unless we're in a tipped role.
