I almost want to say that they probably manually program for each iteration of the attraction, esp. when we are talking about 10-15 years between builds. It may be easier to simply replicate (and possibly improve) effects with modern tech rather than build exact replicas.

This is what I've found out. The shows are the same no matter where you see them. There are different elements that change depending on the venue because of different built in special effects. These are minor and they are the same show. HISTA and Capt EO are suppose to be interchangeable, Disney say's you just have to throw a switch. It works a lot better in theory then it does in practice, I'm told it's a real Pain in the A$$, but it can be done.

Oh, we already know the "throw a switch" method works (since they do it already), it was just more a curiosity with things like Soarin' and the like.
