Re: Early morning Rope Drop rush!
I'm with the no rush crowd. The only place I've actually seen a rope drop is Epcot. My plan was to get a FP for Soarin' and then maybe head over to Test Track. But there was no real need for the FP. I got it and then had breakfast at Garden Grill and then walked right on to Soarin'.

I try not to rush anymore, it makes you miss all the little things and the enjoyment of just being at WDW. However....I do like to be at MK for the Good Morning Song
and at Epcot, I join the throng of people heading to the Land Pavilion for a Soarin' fastpass.

I am so glad the first time I ever rode Soarin' was at DCA as Soarin' over California. There wasn't the crowds for it there as there the day I was there as there always seems to be at EPCOT...

Re: Early morning Rope Drop rush!
We haven't been to DCA for a few years, I think the last visit was something like 2005, but the Soarin' queue was always pretty packed. They do have a single rider line though (or at least they did) so that made it pretty easy to get on quickly.mindflipper wrote:I am so glad the first time I ever rode Soarin' was at DCA as Soarin' over California. Re: Early morning Rope Drop rush!
We try not to get to wrapped up on the early morning rush but here's what we usually do.
MK: Go to Main St. Vehicles and ride horse drawn trolley down Main St. Then go to Space Mtn and get fastpass and head to Fantasyland. Do all Fantasyland rides that get longish lines (Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White)
EPCOT: Do the Soarin Stampede (yuck!) and then do other things on that side - Nemo, Living w/ the Land, Imagination.
STUDiOS: Get fastpass for Toy Story Mania and then ride Toy Story Mania w/o fastpass. Go to Star Tours then head down towards Rockin Rollercoaster to fastpass that
AK: Get Expedition fastpass then ride safari or Dinosaur.
About AK - do you guys ever notice how they don't open Expedition Everest for riders until about 10 minutes past park opening? I've always wondered why they do this since it is not done for any other ride in any other park that I know of.

Re: Early morning Rope Drop rush!
I did notice this on our past trip. I wonder if it takes a little longer to get up and running in the morning? Rock n Roller Coaster was always down this past December too, but I think it was just having some problems. Sometimes I wonder if attractions are "closed" because of celebrities and their families experiencing them without the public. Especially since we are there during the Candlelight Processional time of the year.disneylizzy wrote:About AK - do you guys ever notice how they don't open Expedition Everest for riders until about 10 minutes past park opening? Shut down the whole ride? I remember one time they used to smuggle the celebs in through a back door and they boarded in the disembarking area instead of the boarding area.

That's what I have heard too...about them ushering in celebs through the back door, but I wondered this past time since there were at least 10 different CM's, several of whom looked more managerial, shooing people away from RnR, and they were taping something back there a few days after that.mindflipper wrote:Shut down the whole ride? Makes me think something else was going on there...Amy wrote:That's what I have heard too...about them ushering in celebs through the back door, but I wondered this past time since there were at least 10 different CM's, several of whom looked more managerial, shooing people away from RnR, and they were taping something back there a few days after that.mindflipper wrote:Shut down the whole ride? Its a Disney Conspiracy. Secret
Re: Early morning Rope Drop rush!
The only thing I do rope-drop for is Soarin'. Otherwise, forget it. Maybe Toy Story Mania if I'm in the mood, but not always. Only if my family is around.

I think if celebs are going to come to a place like Disney, they should stand in line like everyone else. They know what the place is all about.Amy wrote:That's what I have heard too...about them ushering in celebs through the back door, but I wondered this past time since there were at least 10 different CM's, several of whom looked more managerial, shooing people away from RnR, and they were taping something back there a few days after that.mindflipper wrote:Shut down the whole ride?
