I'm glad I'm not alone in my thinking.
I like the music for Spectro better as well. More Disney, to me, with more of a Disney feel and sound.

We need to know once and for all!!!
I prefer Spectromagic since I think the music just resembles more of what a person expects when they think of a Disney parade. The singing is a great touch and the parade just feels a lot smoother to me.
Give homage where it's due, Len90, if the MSEP had not been so ground-breaking in its time with music and lights, there would be no Spectromagic today...
MSEP deserves a ton of credit for being such a success and thus the great classical nighttime parade. However I personally think that Spectromagic just improved upon MSEP and has become a bit more popular.
As mentioned, I really do find the ending to MSEP very cheesy and really wished they kept the IASW themed version.

Actually, Dreamlights over at TDL made an improvement on both. If you'e ever seen it (even on YouTube), it outdoes both of these parades. I would love if they could replicate some of that into a "Spectromagic 2.0".

Spectromagic gets my vote on music alone!
"On this magic night,
A million stars will play beside us,
Cast a spell of liiiiiiight,
Glimmering, shimmering, carouselling
'Round the world tonight,
A symphony in SpectroMagic.
Pure enchantment lights our waaaaaaay!"
Oh I love it!!!

Although the MSEP is a classic I feel that it lacks that kind of "magical" sense that Spectromagic has. So I would have to choose Spectromagic.

My only minus about Spectromagic is that it's short. They stretch it out with very large gaps in between the series of floats (to allow people to cross-walk, they say). When they brought MSEP back from DCA they cropped off some floats from it too. Why does any electrical parade at WDW have to be shorter than its counterparts at any other park?

It doesn't make sense the route is long.

I don't know if it is a storage issue or not but do keep in mind that WDW is currently sitting on the MSEP and most likely the Spectro floats. Those do take up a decent amount of space.

Me too, there's something really magical about those lines - it almost makes me cry! Thank goodness I bought the spectromagic cd before they replaced it w/ the electrical parade in disneyworld. Now at least I can imagine the parade to the music!
Also wanted to add that Spectromagic gets extra points b/c Jiminy Cricket is the narrator - and he's so darn cute when you see him riding on the back of the last float saying goodnight.

That's too funny ~ I almost mentioned Jiminy since he is the one that talks after those lyrics you posted!

I tell ya - you people toss aside MSEP for Spectro - it's like gladly tossing aside Horizons for Mission: Space because its newer and shinier...

Same could be said of Horizons, World of Motion, Carousel of Progress, and many other rides that Subsonicers complain about being replaced...
