Did you use the Disney Dining Plan or pay cash? There are different tiers of seating, and if you use DDP they seat you in Tier 2 (off to the side or in the back) or Tier 3 (upstairs).

I paid cash, tier 1!!!! I was not happy, we were even warned that party of 2 sometimes get stuck next to the piano..that's where we were. My wife said it was the first time in our 10 trips that I made a made choice! lol

Yes, I would be upset then too! We sprung for tier 1 (using Disney Dream Reward Dollars, so it doesn't really count) for our upcoming trip, but there are 4 people in our party so hopefully we'll be better off. My wife remembers going to the show as a young teenager and being amusingly accosted by one of the players, much to her embarassment, so I insisted that we try to make that happen again. If nothing else I think the kids will have a good time:).

That's too bad that you didn't have a good experience. I wonder if you had said something about the seating if they would have moved you?

Bummer ~ it would have been good guest service to give you some vouchers for a meal elsewhere since you were stuck on the side, the food was cold, the service not so great, and they forgot your anniversary :(

Maybe needed to complain loudly and quite unhappily to get those vouchers...if there are any...

I've done the hoop-de doo (several times) and the spirit of Aloha show (once), I'd recommend them both. If forced to choose, I'd have to go with the luau.
