Re: Countdown to ST2
Have dates been announced (officially) for the Star Wars weekends yet?
And yes, I agree that Body Wars was more likely to bring about motion sickness symptoms.

Yeah, both parks' versions open the same day and it will be before the weekends (I'm guessing to fix the expected breakdowns at WDW)

DW didn't want to ride it more than once...got a little sick from the slinging around. What is funny is that she was fine after Mission Space. You would have thought if Star Tours made her sick...Mission Space would as well.Amy wrote:Aww, that is too bad your trip got cancelledtheBIGyowski wrote:DW and I were supposed to be going down there in June...during Star Wars Weekend...but that trip got canceled (not our fault but it helps us save money to go later).
I am hoping we can get down there either later this year or in January for the marathon. Let's just pray the new version doesn't make people as sick as the old one.
I don't remember anyone getting sick on the original Star Tours when I rode it ~ was that a problem?

As of today, the outside of Star Tours is still the same. AT-AT and Ewok Village are still there and Tatooine Traders (gift shop) is still open.Wizzard419 wrote:Do they have anything interesting out front for DHS? Here it's still just temporary signs and walls (we all open on the same date).

Maybe it is Star Tours did fling you all around and Mission Space just sort of pushed you back in your seat?theBIGyowski wrote:DW didn't want to ride it more than once...got a little sick from the slinging around. Y'know, DLR got Star Tours long before WDW did at DHS, so DLR should have the more wear'n'tear between the two.Wizzard419 wrote:Yeah, both parks' versions open the same day and it will be before the weekends (I'm guessing to fix the expected breakdowns at WDW)

Re: Countdown to ST2
When we went during Christmas it was all still there and the gift shop was open---they had a CM standing out front telling people it was closed. What a lonely job. People would walk up, I guess assuming it was open with no wait ??? and she would stop them and say it was opening at a future date.MadEye wrote:As of today, the outside of Star Tours is still the same. Talk about your bad jobs--sounds almost as bad as the bell ringer at Columbia Harbour House!

Re: Countdown to ST2
I'm surprised that they didn't do more for this re-opening since they had a big "to-do" with the closing. I figured they would have a countdown clock out front to get people even more excited. OR... is that just Disney covering themselves in case they have to push the opening back a few days/weeks/months???MadEye wrote:As of today, the outside of Star Tours is still the same. Yeah, best way to miss your deadline, put a big countdown timer up.
Even if they have all their bases covered, something could still fail and push the opening back.

I don't imagine that Disney will do anything much to change the exterior, just the interior perhaps.
Re: Countdown to ST2
My wife and I go on our last trip in March before we welcome our first child, so we'll miss the opening of ST2 by a few months. I have a feeling it'll be at least a year or two before we return to WDW, and I'm sure it'll be an entirely different trip. I cant wait for ST2 though.

So far it's been similar at disneyland as well, they may work on the floors but overall the entry hasn't been drastically modified.mindflipper wrote:I don't imagine that Disney will do anything much to change the exterior, just the interior perhaps.

I expect that ST2 will have a soft opening, but not any time in March.joeyflds wrote:My wife and I go on our last trip in March before we welcome our first child, so we'll miss the opening of ST2 by a few months.
