Another great way to escape the heat are the Character locations in the parks. EPCOT and DHS have fantastic places for the characters and you get to hang out in air conditioning.

Len, that's why I said the Animation Gallery. It's the best character meet in all of WDW, jmho. Great minds, Len, great minds...

Now if only I knew how to read and comprehend... :D
I will have to agree with you on that. Not only do they have Sorcerer Mickey there, they also have Lotso Bear and the Incredibles. Then they also have the random surprise characters. As I had stated in my Trip Report we hung out in there for close to an hour. The lines to see Lotso, Sorcerer Mickey, and Incredibles were not long at all. IF we waited 15-20 minutes for Mickey it was a lot. The surprise characters are numerous there. We ended up seeing Pinocchio, Stitch, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Jafar, Mr. Penguin, Tweedledee & Tweedledum, Mr.Snee, and a Green Army Man. We missed Snow White since we had to run to Prime Time to get our ADR, but to see 15 characters in about an hour is amazing.

The only park the heat really gets to me is in Ak. It's seems like the air just doesn't move there. Bugs life is a great place to get out of the heat. I don't like doing the rapids unless we're going to go back to the resort right after, chaffing! I like the area with the meerkats and the other smaller animals, it's cooler there. Come to think of it, feeling the heat at the AK may just be because we're there in the heat!

You're not alone on this! I feel like AK is the hottest park too. I think it's b/c there are less indoor attractions there and also it's more humid there due to all of the foliage and the constant watering that must be done.

...and some of the animals don't smell so well in all that heat either...

I think it also has to do with the amount of walking you have to do to get between attractions and places where there is air conditioning. We couldn't handle the heat in the park on our past visit and had to leave so we could cool off in our resort's pool.

We have always gone in late Fall or in Winter, so it hasn't been much of a problem for us. But there have been some toasty days on occasion, so I guess I could say that if I had to escape the heat I would do it thusly:

MK: CoP or Mickey's Philharmagic.
AK: Bug. Finding Nemo is good too, if you can time it right.
Epcot: The Tequila Bar in the Mexico Pavillion... definitely the tequila bar....
DHS: ToT. Most of the queue is air-conditioned.

Of course, my sweetie, Mouseoholic, would say one simple answer for all parks: "shopping."

I agree about pirates being one of the best to cool off. It is always chilly down there, and Muppets 3-d at HS is a nice cool place and great for a nap if its at the end of your vacation!

I think I could be the most exhausted I've ever been and still not sleep through Muppets!!!! Nod off a little maybe (if I were that tired!), but I'd be saying the lines the whole time!!!
