Then there is the disbelief where you go last week in this time I was doing this and was so happy. This lasts for the remainder of the first week after the trip. After that there is the coping stage where you finally are able to talk about it with others and begin resuming normal activities. Once that begins, you start working on your trip report that you post over in the "Trip Planning and Reports" forum. This actually will give you tears of joy and will bring a smile back to your face as you relive those numerous happy memories. Once this is completed you get out the calendar and start looking for the time frame to plan your next vacation.

Thus the cycle is complete!
This is so true! We are currently planning our trip in Oct and have booked our hotels for the drive since its a 2 day drive. I'm already dreading booking our rooms for the drive home! It makes me sad just thinking of those dark, cold, lonely nights in our budget motels on the drive home! :mickey:

I'm with Amy on this one - after 9 or 10 days at WDW I'm pretty glad to be back home. I'm usually exhausted and at the point where I can barely walk.

That said, I spend a lot of time getting my pictures all ready to post to my dA accounts and update my groups there as well with the final trip report and such. Posting pictures is an ongoing process, so every series is like revisiting my trips. :D

The only thing to do is drink. Drink until your liver is ruined and you can't even remember taking a trip.

Seriously, I suppose it depends on the length of the trip. After our 5-day trip in January, we kind of wanted to get home because we missed our dog, and I was worried that I might forget how to do my Clark Kent job. Its harder to leave after we take just a day trip. On our way out of the park, we see people getting on the resort buses and think how they get to go back to their Disney resort and continue their vacation, and we have to get in the car and drive for two hours, and it's a little depressing. That's kind of how I got this bump on the side of my head: we were walking back to our car in the Studios' parking lot last Saturday, and I took out my phone to consult the calendar so I could determine the exact number of days until I'd be back. I wasn't looking where I was going and hit my head on the bottom half of one of those "What Will You Celebrate?" banners. Moral of the story: leaving Disney can be painful in more ways than one!

I feel that would be just sheer torture. Interesting to see how we all have different ways of coping with the back home blues. However, I think we can all agree that on check-out day we all have that "going home face" on.

For me, the torture is that I get tunes stuck in my head. Listening to an overload of Disney music (especially the tunes lodged in my brain) is the best way to drive it out and get over a trip.

I get over the blues by planning my next trip. Or looking at photos from this past trip - then you can relive all of the happy memories.

I love subsonic, but it actually just makes me want to go back to disney more!

I agree, listening to Sub makes me want to go back in the worst way, that's why it will take me several months before I can "listen" here again after a trip. The forums help me recover with all of my Sub family. But, the music is just torture!

LOL!!!!!! That is Dh and I in reverse. I drive him nuts enough to book again (If we didnt book the bounce back offer when we were down there.)

I do a trip report, make a couple of photo books, order my photopass Cd, make my scrap book, start to obsessively plan my next trip. When Disney commercials are on tv I start to pout and run numbers in my head.

First...start planning your next WDW trip. Then get a Disney fix any way you can. Look at your pictures, show them to fellow Disney fans. Listen to SSR, go to allearsnet.com and look up anything Disney, accomodations, dining, parks, etc., All ears net has a youtube section as well.

I haven't been to WDW since 2007 and have been planning our October trip since then and I'm really worried I'm going to have severe back home blues.
