funny that I have no desire to spend wedding/honeymoon/anniversaries at WDW or DLR...

However, I DO have a very special (non-Disney) place where I want my wedding to be held... if only...
I'm with you on this one Akyriel, Disney doesn't say honeymoon for me. Would love to have someone special to share the Disney trip with, but not sure I would want the honeymoon there ~ the wedding pavilion might be neat...but I'm thinking for the same price could do a very nice ceremony, maybe on the beach?

We honeymooned there in 2002!

one night we were there for the extra magic hours, or whatever it was called then.. I don't remember right now what it used to be called...
anyway, we had on our bride/groom ears, and when we were coming off the pooh ride,
the CM said... "I can tell you guys were married" and me figuring he was being a smart*** cause of the ears we had on asked, "oh yeah? how's that?" His answer, was "Because you are still smiling"

Might have been cause i was way overtired, but I laughed my butt off at that line! haha

DW and I got married and honeymooned at Carribbean Beach in '98. Because we eloped and didn't have any wedding guests, we planned a 10th anniversary vow renewal at WDW in '08, and invited the family (30 guests!). We renewed our vows at Epcot, in the Italy courtyard. We spent our vow renewal honeymoon at the Polynesian resort (Disney sure knows how to make you feel special).

So I got married and honeymooned at Disney twice! :D

Only on very rare occasions and if the groom and bride are "of substance" then the temple mount police just kinda lightly protest...
Maybe things will change by the time i get married haha

Grand Floridian

Post by Brian845 » May Wed 12, 2010 8:40 am

We honeymooned there in September 2001 at the Grand Floridian. We were at Epcot on Sept 11th. They shut the parks down in the late morning, which was kind of sad but understandable. We managed to have a good time for the remainder of our stay, and we have many fond memories. We ended up driving home instead of flying.

We never inquired whether they were offering any kind of compensation for closing the parks, but I imagine they must have done something?

We had to wait 3 years to save up, but we honeymooned at WDW in 2001. It was our first stay on-property, and we've never stayed off-property since! :D

Next week, we're going to bring our daughter (18 months old) to WDW for the first time. The whole family is pretty psyched. :goofy_bounce:

My wife and I honeymooned at Walt Disney World, Florida, in 1980.
(30 years this year, we are gonna go to Disneyland California)
My son and daughter-in-law also Honeymooned at Walt Disney World in 2008.
My daughter would like to, but still look'n for Mr. right.

How do you do

If Disneyland counts then we honeymooned their in Nov 1977, still married after 33 years.

Since many of us seem to get our threads that contain DL and WDW confused, I would say it counts to have honeymooned in DL ~ congrats on the 33 years!
