Yeah, I'm not happy about McD's leaving DTD either. It was a cheap place to get a bite to eat and a nice change of pace from some of the other Disney food offerings.

Hopefully, the new restaurant will be a hit..

Not a fan of this decision. Not the biggest McDonalds fan but the one in Downtown Disney was actually pretty good.

I've never heard of Pollo Campero either.

The good part about the McDonald's being gone in Epcot is the bird problem has really improved. People we feeding the seagulls and ducks fries. It was almost like the scene from "The Birds".

Good riddance!!! :D
As a past CM of DTD, I have a personal grudge...lol...
Earl of Sandwich is waaaaaay more amazing than anything from McD's, all around a better choice in quick DTD dining.
As for the parks...there are other wonderful (and healthier) snacks that are just as inexpensive...consider a Dining Plan!

I agree mpwheat, but those McD fries.....so good! Especially in a magical setting like WDW! So, they could get rid of everything except the fries in my opinion! I think mindflipper will back me on this one too!

McD fries are mighty good. We have stopped numerous times in the park to share a fry. I will try Pollo though as I have never eaten there before, and it has some good reviews.

I thought all fry carts in all of the parks had converted over to WDW food service. If the AK cart is still active (Petrifries), then it will be closing. WDW and McD no longer have an arrangement. WDW has pulled the happy meal toy agreement also.

The Happy Meal itself still exists but I do believe the toy agreement has been gone for a while. I remember how much I would eat back in the day for the disney toys.

You all have got to be kidding....all the different food selections at Disney and you go to McDonalds???

Just to put this in perspective for everyone, Boilerbabe, does anything at McDonalds make you dance like a Dole Whip does :?: :D

Len90 wrote:The title says it all. The McDonald's in Downtown Diseny will be closing on April 30. A Pollo Campero is set to takeover the location. Pollo Campero is a Latin-based chicken fast food chain. This comes as the 10 year exclusive deal between McDonald's and WDW comes to an end. The location on the property near Animal Kingdom is not affected by this and will remain open.

That's ok by me... best McD's on property is the one across from DAK.

I guess that I'm in the minority here, but I am glad to see McDonalds go. I can have McD anytime I want while I am at home or about anywhere else. When I go to WDW I want restaurant experiences that I can't have any other place. Give me something unique and special. Give me something Disney. If I really have to have McD on my trip I can stop at one of the 400 or so that we pass between Charlotte and Orlando.
