I just watched the video on youtube. I'm not good with change and I'm not really impressed or happy about the Fantasyland expansion. It's seems like it's all for little girls. What about adults and little boys?! I'm not good with change though. Like others have said, it seems like it's going to be another little amusement park within MK, which how does this make MK special?! I don't like the moving of the Dumbo either, that's an original classic attraction, which I know the wait lines are always terrible for this and they're not getting rid of it, I just don't understand how the queue is going to work?! However, the Star Tours overhaul is loooong overdue and I'm looking forward to that one!

how could anyone not like this idea?? few things are actually changing, most of it brand new disney!! so what, the grotto is gone, big deal. dumbo gets moved (and improved, how is this bad, you are still flying around in a circle!) and the barnstormer gets rethemed (on no, a 20 second ride is getting changed, horrors!!) toontown, really? who cares, i never went back there except to catch the train. it always felt hastily thrown together and wasteful to me. the biggest thing back there is a souvenir shop. the rest of the stuff is taking the place of what is right now essentially an open field. not utilizing that space would be kind of dumb(o). and doing it in any way besides expanding fantasyland in to the available space would seem to be a bad idea. would you rather it be marvel land?? didnt think so...

Not to be off topic, but it looks like Muppets is getting a digital film.

In this day of injury litigation 20,000 leagues under the sea would be a nightmare. Plus, as it could not take a wheelchair, there would be those sueing under the ADA. Add to it that it was a maintenance nightmare, this ride just had too many negatives. Cheaper to shut it down.
And I agree that Toontown look poorly assembled. It looked cheap. It looked nothing like Disneyland's Toontown, which I felt had more time, effort and $$ put into it. I'm not sad to see it go.
My only complaint seems to be that it is almost entirely aimed at small girls: Belle's meet-greet house, Cinderella's meet-greet house, Aeriel's meet-greet spot, Little Mermaid ride, and Pixie Hollow (more meet-greet). There's very little really to do. Two attractions are the same: Dumbo and Barnstormer. Only really new ride is Little Mermaid, and that's the same ride they're putting into California Adventures (and BTW why there? What does the Little Mermaid have to do with California?). At least another ride would have been nice.

First, I have to say I like the fact that they are finally expanding. That said, I agree it seems like they are gearing most of this towards little girls. Although my niece will love it as she grows, I know it's gonna be just a tad less exciting for me. My hope is that they are realizing they need to grow and will use this as a platform to create future rides/experiences geared more towards the male portion of visitors.
The ability to possibly create a Beast coaster down the road is a possibility I hope will come to fruition. Additionally, I know we all would love a possible new version of Mr. Toad that could be made within this newly available space. Additionally future movies will now have a space to possibly be adapted into the park if they can be fit within the theming. While initially it seems a little lackluster, I like that they are starting the think big again.
As for the dumbo queue I read somewhere that they are going to have an interactive area to keep kids entertained while waiting. Based on that, I'm guessing there will be an area like fast pass stations where you get a ticket and simply wait to be called. With two rides going, and an interactive area, which is out of the sun, I think most adults will agree this is a nice improvement.

I defnitely like the idea of the Fantasyland expansion. It will make Fantasyland just seem a whole lot bigger. I do not like the idea of just making the area for little girls but I'm just happy that they are finally planning on something, instead of just sitting on their money. I know times are tough but your competition is building and it's best to not get left behind.
Noone has mentioned the new restaurant too in the beast's castle. Will it be sit-down or quick-service? New Restaurants are always a PLUS in my books.
I also read this in the article: For example, some villains from the princesses' movies will also be incorporated to help the area appeal to boys
Gaston? haha
I am really excited for Star Tours II. I hope Rex will still be incorporated into the new film somehow.

After watching the video, it looks like they will do a great job and it looks fun!

First of all I have to agree with the expansion, something really needed to be done and glad they are finally getting out from behind the desks and getting this done. As for the majority of this being tailored to little girls, well, I agree and think it is also warranted. A lot of original movies/books are based on princesses and think there should be a themed land tailored to that genre. I might be biased because I have 2 little girls now and having been there a few times now with a little girl made me realize how much the rest of the lands/parks/attractions are tailored more to boys and adults.
As for the boy and adult crowd that is overwhelmed with princesses, I can see that too but at least this is not scattering princesses all over other lands/parks with single attractions but rather keeping it all together leaving the rest of the world princess-free. Also, I think this will make Fantasyland so much better themed and more distinguished from generic ammusement parks as others have stated. If anything, the current state of Fantasyland looks like a generic ammusement park, this upgrade will better tie in the whole land together with the castle-like area/walls.
The one thing I do not like about all of this is moving Mickey's and Minnie's houses to somewhere near or off Main Street - this is sacred ground, leave it alone!

One thing I am wondering about is the new BGM in these new areas.

Is there a clip that discusses Star Tours?Len90 wrote: Have you seen the video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08W5Os-Wnj0 It looks to be the most well-themed land this side of Disney Sea.
And glad to see that this (hopefully) won't require the WDW Railroad to shutdown.
