Sell it on eBay!!! Just kidding  I'd use the first half of the day at Epcot squeezing everything I could in by lunch. The last half would be used at MK taking in all of the e-ticket rides before concluding with Wishes. Given it would only be a 1-day Park Hopper, I probably would not spend my time trying to work in AK and DHS on this trip.

For the one day park hoppers, I would use the EMHs on both ends, so that would dictate where I'd start and end my day. Hopefully Magic Kingdom would have the evening EMHs so that I could do more things there if time allowed, plus their hours usually run later than the others, giving me more time to play with. The middle choices would be more based on geography and travel options so that I'd lose the least amount of time going on a bus. I'd hate wasting the water parks option, but I don't think there's any way I could fit it in. I would eat a quick counter service for lunch, grab snacks as needed, then eat supper at T-Rex after the parks close. For each park, I would hit the following rides:

Magic Kingdom
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain
Space Mountain
Teacups
Enchanted Tiki Room
Magic Carpets

Epcot
Test Track single rider
Soarin

Hollywood Studios
Tower of Terror
Rock n Roller Coaster single rider

Animal Kingdom
Everest
Kali River Rapids
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl

Given a one day no hopper, I'd probably spend the day at the Magic Kingdom.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

Given a one day, one park pass...I have to admit that one would get the most out of EPCOT. Future World and World Showcase have so much to offer...rides/shows/characters/amazing food/great shopping/lovely atmosphere/wonderful seasonal events. This all depends on the interests of the person/family, of course.

In any case, I would have an extremely hard time saying no to MK...so I would probably spend my day there. :]

I have an old never-expire comp pass from when I was a CM. It's a parkhopper. :D If I had one single day I just might try the four parks in one day thing, assuming the parks are open to a decent hour. Start at AK, ride Everest or the Safari, see the tigers. Take the bus to the Studios and ride ToT, walk over to Epcot, get free Coke and then ride Soarin' and/or Test Track, then take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day. I probably wont be able to move the next day, but it'll be fun nonetheless.

For a non-parkhopper it would really depend on what the park hours are and what time of year it is. If it's low season I'll probably go to Epcot because it'll likely be open latest. If it's Christmas time I'd probably want to go to the Studios to see the lights and take a bajillion pictures.

I would go to Hollywood Studios in the morning, then Epcot that night.

May I assume that I am spending the previous night at the Wilderness Lodge? If so, I would leave the WL at about 7:00 am and walk over to Fort Wilderness and fuel up at the Trails End Buffet. Then I would catch a bus to EC where I would get in as much of Future World as I could before World Showcase opens up. Then I would make the loop around World Showcase beginning at Mexico. When I reached the back entrance between France and United Kindgom I would take the walkway past the Boardwalk over to DHS and grab a cookies and cream milkshake at the Sci Fi. If the line wasn't too long for the RNR I would ride. (I am just assuming that TSM would be out of the question by this time of the day.) Next I would catch a bus to MK and just spend some time taking in the sights and the sounds. Finally, I would end the day at the GF sitting outside the snack shop near the marina watching the fireworks over the castle.

I think we would hit all the thrill ride in all the parks. Start with DHS, then off to AK, MK and Epcot. Finishing the day with Fantamic, Wiches at the poly on the beach and then a churro and Illuminations.

without the little ones... I may try to incorporate DHS in the AM just to do a quick trip on ToT and RRC and then over to EPCOT's Future World and then to MK till closing.

With the little ones: only EPCOT Future World for the AM and then MK till closing. there's more for them there that they appreciate and always come home talking about.

I would hate to give up Everest either way but if you are only giving me one day, that's the park I guess would have to go, even though I love it so.

my 9 year old has another take on this:
AK in the AM for everst
DHS for ToT and RRC
EPCOT for Test Track, Mission to Mars
MK for Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and stay for fireworks
Kids have so much energy! <phew>

I think this time I would do this.....

EPCOT at opening until noon.
Head over to Blizzard Beach until 5pm this time.
Go back to the hotel to relax.
Head back to EPCOT for Reflections Of Earth.

EPCOT!!!

Hit up FW during the AM. Lunch at Sunshine Seasons.

WS in the afternoon. Start in Canada, Off Kilter and the film. Then UK for the British Invasion (duh) and shopping in my favorite store (the one with the Beatles stuff!!). France for the film, stop at the little bakery place. Morocco. Then Japan, go in Mitsukoshi. US pavilion for American Adventure. Italy. Then Germany, dinner at Biergarten. China for the movie. Maelstrom in Norway and Three Caballeros in Mexico. Finish it off by waiting Illuminations from my favorite spot- bridge between the UK and France!

I've done this many times, really, but it's my perfect WDW day. I wish every day could be like this!
